“Striped Socks” Guild

Striped Socks was formed on the 22nd November 2008 and since we began, we’ve had very smooth and efficient progress.

The Guild managed to defeat all of the Wrath of the Lich King PvE content and excitedly waited for the beginning of Cataclysm. It is the intention of Striped Socks to remain an accomplished 25man raiding guild and to continue chasing Realm Firsts! wherever possible.

Striped Socks was formed with the idea that no one should be carried through a raid, that every member will always play their best and that all members share the same goals as the guild as a whole.

Our vision is to create a guild where no one feels that they wouldd rather be somewhere else during raids and where no one gets the feeling that they are dragging a huge portion of the raid through an instance.
Striped Socks intends that every raid is raid where most wipes are caused by flaws in tactics and not because someone just didn’t want to play their best.

Your application will be treated with strict confidentiality and your privacy is assured in all but the most obscure circumstances.

Note: If your class or spec is not open in the recruitment window, your application will still be considered and it is still worth making an application if you are serious about joining us.

Applicants must be prepared to offer:

* A strong commitment towards progressive raiding.This means giving a high priority to attending progress raids; you should not be late to raids and you should not need to leave early.

* A mature and productive attitude. High end raids can prove to be very stressful at times; it is crucial that you are mentally prepared for a wipefest as well as be able to calmly accept criticism and follow instructions.

* A good command of the English language. Communication is key to developing tactics and coordination in a raid encounter; you must be able to communicate with a microphone over ventrilo in all raids.

* Comprehensive knowledge of your class and raid dynamics. There is an abundance of information across the internet instructing you on exactly how to maximize your raid performance in a variety of different scenarios. Not everyone has the ability to top the meters in every encounter, however trailing in last every time is unacceptable.

* Social Skills. Striped Socks maintains a very friendly and comfortable social atmosphere, whilst no one minds if you have a quiet predisposition, unnecessary drama is not tolerated.

* Respect for the council. Striped Socks operates under a council based leadership system. No decisions are taken lightly whether it be over loot, raid spots or guild ranks so if you disagree with the council over anything it is advisable to approach the subject calmly and with careful moderation.

*Cataclysm update:
Striped Socks managed to get realm 1st for Halfus Wyrmbreaker, Conclave of Wind, Omnotron Defense System, Valiona and Theralion, Cho'gal and Sinestra. Other kills were 2nd or realm 3rd kills.
Before Firelands some of our guild members left and we contined on with Firelands with a weaker raid than we had, but still we managed to get double 10man full clear in the first week. When it came to heroics we got realm 3rd on most of the kills, except Alysrazor and Beth'tilac which were realm 2nd.

We are still recruiting exceptional players that have the will to progress in this game and are able to carry their own weight in raids.
