Last Update: 15th of October 2009.
Openings:
We are currently looking for members in order to strenghten our roster to tackle the Crusader Coliseum raid instance and get prepared for the assault on Icecrown. All positions will get fair and appropriate raiding time: we're looking for raiders, not bench-warmers.
In the specific, we're looking for exceptional players in the following classes/roles:
- Warrior (DPS)
- Feral Druid (DPS)
- Restoration Druid
- Rogue
- Retribution Paladin
- Death-Knight (DPS)
- Holy/Disc Priest
Following the launch of the Paid Faction Service in Europe, we're also welcoming and looking forward to Cross-faction application for those amazing Alliance players willing to make the jump.
Please also do keep in mind that no matter our specific searches for some classes, we're always looking for, welcoming and seriously considering applications from exceptional individuals of ALL CLASSES AND ROLES.
By exceptional individual we mean someone striking us for the way he'll write his application, his gear and especially his experience with the game. He will have to be someone who will be potentially better than the majority of our current players, with application credentials that make that fact very evident. You are free and encouraged to drop off an application anyway, especially if you think of yourself as an exceptional player which could be a nice addition to our roster. Every application will be taken into consideration.
The Imbalanced Manifesto:
Imbalanced was founded shortly after the launch of World of Warcraft in Europe (on March 28th, 2005), with the intent of being a guild dedicated to PvE Raiding on the bleeding edge of progression.
From the very start of our guild life, we strove to consolidate our position and our reputation within the WoW raiding community, with more than satisfactory results which always saw us within the top 50 guilds in Europe up to today, our best performance to date being our 2nd EU (4th World) Horde kill of C'thun in Ahn'Qiraj, after Nihilum. As far as our "market niche" (European, Horde and English-speaking guilds) goes, we're one of the top 5-10 guilds you can find.
This kind of results were anyway always achieved while preserving the awareness of World of Warcraft being a game, and hence meant to be fun and enjoyable for whoever plays it. For this reason, we love and we're proud to have a community with strong bonds going even beyond the limits of WoW, and of the friendliness and unity among our members. We have always been proud of the methods and the ways Imbalanced kept as a guild, and we will never tolerate any single-manned action that could potentially stain our hard-earned reputation.
Four years and several months since our foundation, we are still holding true to the same spirit and core values.
Imbalanced, today and tomorrow:
We are currently based on Jaedenar, a PvP realm on the Misery battlegroup. We transfered here in early January 2009 using a free migration from the PvP realm Neptulon, as the queue and instance latency situation there were starting to make playing impossible. Due to the move, we also sadly found ourselves forced to change our name from our historical <Imbalanced> to <Guild Imbalanced>, but, luckily, we recently managed to get back our old <Imbalanced> tag. In Wrath of the Lich King we cleared all the available content following the launch of the expansion (including Immortal, Sartharion +3 Drakes in both 25 and 10 man versions), and stormed through Ulduar in both normal and hard modes, managing to confirm ourselves as the top horde guild of our realm, and winning the server's race to both Algalon and Yogg0, snatching the first kills for our server. Our current focus is on chewing the Heroic content offered by the Crusader Coliseum, and getting prepared for the assault of Icecrown. As usual, we will be creating our own strategies and tactics to achieve those results, and we aim to confirm ourselves as the top Horde guild of our realm, as we have always been up to today, and to improve even more our standing among the raiding scene in World of Warcraft.
To recap some of our achievements in Ulduar:
- Heroic: Heartbreaker (XT-002 Deconstructor 25 Hard Mode): World 23rd, EU 11th, EU Horde EN Speaking 4th.
- Heroic: I Love the Smell of Saronite in the Morning (General Vezax 25 Hard Mode): World 21st, EU 17th, EU Horde EN Speaking 6th.
- Heroic: I Could Say this Cache was Rare (Hodir 25 Hard Mode): World 38th, EU 16th, EU Horde EN Speaking 4th.
- Heroic: I Choose You, Steelbreaker (Iron Council 25 Hard Mode): World 47th, EU 25th, EU Horde EN Speaking 4th.
- Heroic: Observed (Algalon 25): World 72nd, EU 31st, EU Horde EN Speaking 6th.
Still for the number lovers, at the end of the Ulduar Content we placed ourselves as 59th in the World, 30th in Europe, and 6th EU Horde EN Speaking guild. The fully updated current status of our progress can be however always found at: http://www.wowprogress.com/guild/eu/jaedenar/Imbalanced
Our plan for the future is to keep riding the wave of bleeding edge "frontier" raiding, striving to confirm and improve our position among the top raiding guilds in World of Warcraft. In the short term this means finishing up what the Trial of the Grand Crusader has to offer (including 0 wipes Tribute), and getting ready for when the assault to Icecrown will launch, storming through the current content until then. And, of course, preparing ourselves for whatever other raiding challenge Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm may offer us in the future.
Raids and Raiding Schedule:
We always valued more the quality of the time spent in raid over the sheer quantity of time spent. This translates in a raiding schedule going from Sunday to Thursday from approximately 18:45 to 23:00/00:00 CET (Central Europe Time, aka Server Time). We won't raid 25-Man instances outside those times, and Fridays and Saturdays will remain free days. On exceptional circumstances, we may opt to extend raiding times or schedule raids on Saturday/Sunday afternoons. But this happened very rarely in the history of Imbalanced, and generally only in the very first week of life of a new instance. On off-days, however, several "unofficial" activities are usually running, such as 10 man instancing, PvPing, and the likes.
Imbalanced and you:
You:
- know your class inside-out, and know how to play your role properly in a raid environment.
- can stay out of fires, void zones, blizzards, green clouds, black holes and in general can survive dynamic and static raid-damage elements and mechanics.
- have long-term plans with World of Warcraft.
- raid because you enjoy the thrill of the progression, and not just for the shiny purples, which are just a mean to an end.
- are able to attend at least 4 out of 5 raiding days of our schedule without any problem.
- can deal in a positive way with receiving constructive criticism or having your performance judged.
- are not a drama queen or a troublemaker. We never had one in Imbalanced and we don't want to start having one.
- are able to behave appropriately in a multi-cultural guild and raid environment.
- are able to understand and communicate properly in English, both written and spoken.
- are always prepared for every raid with consumables and resources necessary for it.
- own an equipment decent enough to allow yourself to participate to our current raids without being a hindrance.
- have a proper technical equipment (read: hardware and internet connection) allowing you to raid properly at full capacity without being a hindrance for the raid.
- are a good sport with jokes and humor being thrown around and eventually at you.
- are not going to read the next point, if you're a Troll.
- have no problem with sacrificing a Troll now and then to the gods of Raiding, for the greater good, I mean, loot.
If all of the above could be used to describe you (well, we can live with you not wanting to sacrifice Trolls, but that won't stop us from doing it), then you're an ideal candidate to join Imbalanced, and we would really love to receive and read your application.
How to Apply:
First of all, you need to read and understand our Application FAQ. You can find it at the following URL: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2043
Then to actually apply to Imbalanced, please use the template you'll find at viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3940
You can post your application in public on our Application Forum that you can find at viewforum.php?f=8
Alternatively you can submit, still on our Guild Forums, a Private Message to Manzotin, should you wish for your application not to be for the public eye. Private applications will be discussed among Imbalanced officers but won't be made public at any point, whatever the result of the application will be.
For any other question not answered in this post or in the FAQ, please feel free to contact Manzotin in game or on our forums, or any other officer. Manzotin is however in charge of managing applications.
Important Note: after our migration to Jaedenar, Manzotin changed name to Manzøtin (digit 0248 while holding alt with your chat box open to obtain ø, if you don't have it on your keyboard). Use those should you want to contact them in game. Nicknames on our guild forum did not change. Contact names for our other officers are: Tokenness, Nexxie, Melkazar (Melkunie on the forums), Luz (Lloth on the forums), Cinderbg (Cinder on the forums).
Thank you for your interest in Imbalanced and for reading up to this point. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
