Who are Failed Experiment?
*************************


We are a semi-hardcore guild newly formed at the start of the WoD expansion. We are all age 18+ players and juggling professional lives/activities outside the game. We have a very committed core group of players that enjoy raiding together, through thick and thin. A frequently praised point of distinction made by new raiders joining Failed Experiment is the effort made towards enabling growth/improvement of its members. Our guild forums have many extensive guides on a variety of topics including detailed log analysis/big wigs configuration/keybinding among many others. We are looking for new recruits for legion with the right mindset and dedication to endgame raiding as we have.

While we are predominantly focused in Mythic raiding, there is also a strong interest by numerous members in Challenge Mode runs (timers/alts/fun). All communication during raiding is spoken in English. We use Teamspeak 3 as our voice chat software, and will expect you to install it in order to participate in raids. We also use the EPGP addons as a foundation for our loot system, you will need to install the two addons discussed on the front page in order to receive the points for loot.

While we are serious about mythic raiding, a healthy/fun raiding environment is also very important to us!

Loot System
***********

The general attitude towards loot in Failed Experiment is that it is a means to achieve a goal, and as such it may often be as/more exciting for a teammate to receive an upgrade as it would be for yourself. Due to how we setup our EPGP system, raiders are naturally rewarded for bidding on items which are BiS for them, and passing to others when upgrades are minor. In this way, the raid our loot system enables efficient handling of loot, in a drama free manner.

Officers will step in during exceptional circumstances and override EPGP priority (gearing an alt reroll for progression purposes is a strong example), and any decisions made will be for the benefit of the raid. The system can be summarised as an EPGP foundation for tracking attendance/dedication with an informal loot council overseeing the distribution.

We place the most value in players who are able to demonstrate the following personality characteristics in their applications;

It is an expectation that you come to raids prepared for the planned progression to the extent that you are able to think independently of the raid leader’s instruction.

Since our foundation we have had many loyal raiders who have been raiding with us across several tiers of content, and would love to take in raiders who are looking for a stable home. We are thus looking for members who can commit to the three days a week we raid.

What we will offer YOU

We spend a great deal of time and energy investing into our raiders to ensure that they are capable of achieving growth as players. We have officers/members with exceptional addon/ui knowledge who will be able to offer you instruction on optimizing your user interface configuration, incorporating useful macro's into your gameplay as well as improving your quality of life in game with select scripts. We also will offer you guidance on using analysis tools such as SimulationCraft and Warcraftlogs, in order to help you identify and understand areas of improvement.

Our raid team is very friendly and drama is minimal, a founding belief of our guild is that under no circumstances should a raid member feel personally attacked, and violations to this are taken very seriously. We will always try our best to be inclusive and understanding to your needs as a person, whether this means needing to take time off for whatever urgencies arise (just please inform an officer as early in advance as possible!).

While all our members enjoy raiding together, our attitude towards progression is serious, and mistakes/underperformances will be questioned with the expectation that you actively work to improve them. Your ego should not get in the way of taking constructive criticism!

When viewing your application we will make a judgement call based on how we perceive your personality traits, your current game aptitude, and your drive to improve/progress.
