<below description of recruitment is dated back to cataclysm and has not been updated at this time>

We are looking for a healer to fit into our main rotation. This raid spot will not actually open up for a few weeks (when we lose one of ours to protecting your freedom overseas), but you would be able to come in for normal bosses (farm content) and into heroics on a trial basis in the meantime.

We care about your skills much more than your class or gear, that being said, with all other variables remaining equal we would prefer a resto druid over anything else. We currently have no member of our raid using caster leather, are giving vanq tokens (359, don't get too excited) to offsepcs, and would be somewhat more well rounded with a third healing class. All of that being said, if you are a phenomenal priest/paladin/shaman we would much prefer you to a mediocre tree.

On the topic of gear, we don't really care if you have all epics coming in or not, but if you haven't knocked out a full set of 346 blues with the appropriate reputation rewards, enchants, gems, and two useful trade skills then your mentality around progression and what you want out of the game does not match ours, and you need not apply.

As far as the guild itself we are a mix of 20-somethings that used to raid very competitively 4-5 nights a week in previous expansions, but find ourselves with wives/work/school/social obligations taking up too much of our time to continue 20-30 hours of raiding per week. Our answer to that was Learning Curve, a place where we can raid 5-10 hours a week (Tuesday and Thursday 7EST) but with all of the intensity and preparation that we had in our larger respective guilds. This means that we expect a very clear focus during those few hours where we are working on meaningful content in order to progress through hardmodes at a reasonable pace with significantly less time than other guilds have.

Applications may be posted on our forums http://forums.lcakama.com (which are lightly used to be honest, as we haven't needed to recruit in months) and should probably be accompanied by a brief in-game mail to Otmar or Garbage stating that you applied to ensure we can make a quick assessment of your application. Feel free to ask Garbage any other questions you have about the spot, guild, or process in game, but be aware that asking me dumb questions may have a strong negative impact on our assessment of your application.

I do this against my better judgement, as I know there are no good Warlocks on Akama, but we are also looking for a VERY good warlock to fill out our dps rotation. This spot would NOT be guaranteed to be in on every single progression fight, but would be rotated through with 6-8 other dps to allow us to min/max effectively on heroic 10 man encounters. All of that being said, we have zero issue with gearing up all of our dps through farm content, and you would see progression playtime on fights involving heavy aoe or ranged preference immediately in heroics, and it is certainly possible to play your way into 100% of raids through consistent solid performance. If the above description of our guild, play times, objectives, and culture sound appealing to you, and you find yourself playing a class with a dark purple nameplate, then please follow the aforementioned process for application.
