This post will attempt to compile the entirety of the issue of recruitment, our general mission statement, what classes/specs we are currently interested in, and our recruitment process.

What Lies Beneath the Shell (HA!)



First of all, let me introduce you to our guild, Tacos for Stormwind. We raid weekly, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with invites starting at 8:30 PM and pulls starting no later then 9:00. Our raid calendar is also populated with 10 mans on Fridays and Saturdays run by various officers, when available. We have incredibly experienced and knowledgeable leaders and veterans who not only know the current content inside and out but are capable and eager to dive into new content with the upcoming 3.3 patch. We are fun, easy to talk to, and we love to help you perform well. Expect us to uphold you to high standards.

With our current membership, our regular 25 man raid has downed 13/14 Ulduar, all of ToC, one boss in TOTGC and is working on hard modes. All of the bosses in Ulduar up to Yogg are on farm, and ToC has been a 1 hour affair for a full clear as well.

That being said, we designate ourselves as two thing - a Casual guild and a Progression guild. When first formed, we began with the understanding we were a guild designed to remain casual, and allow me to clarify what that means. We have official 25 man raids 3 times a week, leaving only about 9 hours a week to clear content. That is a casual raiding time commitment. However we choose to use that time in a compentent manner. Casual schedule, competant results. We expect you to have fun playing the game and to perform to the best of your abilities in the 25 man raid environment.

That said, we do not have a strict attendance policy, and as long as you keep communication open with our officers on forums/in game about your availability, expect to have the ablility to earn a spot as a regular raider.

We hand out loot based on loot council. In practice, this has allowed us to try to customize the way our raid is gearing up optimally. This has been very successful for us in the past, but don't expect us to loot council when you are first participating in our raids. With a week or two behind you of solid participation, and a rank up, you'll be considered for gear upgrades. Previous to this, gear may be looted to you at the cost of an abyss crystal (the cost of de) which we put towards guild Best in Slot enchants. This policy continues for most off-spec gear after being promoted to raider.

We also are a progression guild, and when it comes to raid time, we are serious about downing bosses and staying organized. We expect the following things of our raiders:

1 - Know your class, know what's Best in Slot (BiS) or be willing to seek help concerning gear/spec/rotations. Bring food/pots/flasks and your A-game.
2 - Preparation and Timeliness, which means arriving with the above stuff prepared for our raids that you are participating in weekly by 8:30 for invites. If you're logging in at 8:45 just cause, not acceptable. If you have to be a bit late, let an officer know.
3 - Vent, necessary raiding mods, and a basic set of tools that allow you to be an effective raider should go without saying. Decursive, Deadly Boss Mods, Loot mods, Pally Power, interface mods if that's helpful, etc.
4 - Understand that as a progression raid, we aren't afraid of taking a challenge, so expect wipes and repairs
5 - Use of the raid calendar, in-game communication, and the forums to take advantage of the resources and make our raiding successful

When our raiders perform the above tasks, we have tons of fun. We enjoy raiding and seeing hard bosses die. Please be ready to help us do that!

Why the Hell do We want You?


Before I begin further explaining on this issue, understand that Open recruitment means we will take any and all applications and consider them for membership.

That being said, we do have some particular needs in the guild, both for missing spots as well as needing more people ready to raid in the case of absenteeism or if we're desiring a particular raid composition. This list is composed primarily of the following:

1 - 1 Discipline Priest
2 - A Protection/Ret Paladin
3 - An Elemental Shammy
4 - A Restoration Druid
5 - A Death Knight (DPS and TANK specced) that was not a Huntard or Lock in BC (lol)

As a reminder, don't be afraid to apply if you don't see your class/spec listed above, things change constantly and depending on your particular situation, I'll be willing to argue your case for joining regardless of class/spec.

Myself or any of the others involved as leadership will get back to you about your acceptance or rejection to the guild in a timely manner. Most likely, you will be accepted for a tryout period, in which you are going to be closely watched for overall performance, timeliness, attitude, and professionalism. Spamming trade chat and acting like an idiot is one way to get us mad at you. Our members are mature, not a bunch of 5 year olds. Be respectful of other players in general - if we hear about poorly behaving individuals, don't expect to be sticking around.

Expect me to invite you into a heroic along with other guildies, and be ready to rock! It'll be fun and most likely easy, but expect me to be watching you closely.

Following this trial period, your acceptance to the guild as a raider will be marked by your promotion in status from a Wet Burrito to Bean Burrito. You will receive weekly calendar invites to our raids, which we STRONGLY recommend you utilize. (Understand that accepting you'll be at the raid is like making an appointment - don't be late!) If you're unsure about making a particular invited raid, please feel free to talk to an officer about what is the best option and communicate your concerns.
