About Us ...
Heroes of the Command has been on Dalaran since the beginning of WoW. Some of our original charter signers (including the GM) are still active within the guild. We experience minimal turn-over, with most player departures being people who are finishing WoW, not leaving the guild.
The average age of the guild is 29 years old, with several players in their 30's and 40's, and 0 active players under the age of 20.
The guild feel is friendly and familial, and we hold a beach vacation in the summer together, renting out a big mansion-style spot in the Outer Banks. We are incredibly low drama.
We also raid, naturally. We've ranged in progression from "top 3" to "top 10" to "somewhere" over the course of the last several years, but at the heart of our raiding is the principle that in only 8-9 hours of raiding weekly across 2 nights, we are efficient, focused and progressive in our approach.
That's enough about us for those that don't already have their opinions about who we are and aren't :)
About the applicant ...
You are a healer, or a ranged dps. Class isn't really important.
You have all of those competent, learned, gemmed, enchanted, blah blah blah aspects that every raid guild on Earth lists as their requirements for members. We won't. Presume that you will be raiding with a very talented raiding core, and that you will be tackling the currently "new" content and hard modes. Please don't apply if you're all in greens, or if you've never raided. We just don't raid often enough to train you.
You're pretty mature and "Grown up." We don't have a problem with teens, but we don't really have room for juvenile attitudes. Our sense of humor, our playstyle, our lifestyles, etc., are all "adult."
You've got ventrilo, even if you can't "talk" through it, you can listen through it.
You can raid Wednesdays and Sundays regularly. Counting "form-up" time, you're available roughly 7:00PM EST - 12:00AM EST. Raids often end earlier than 12:00AM, sometimes as early as 11 or 11:30. They never end LATER than Midnight.
You can find your way to our website's guild application forums on your own (the website, though, is http://www.tlsconline.com/forums), can carry on conversations in our shoutbox and in-game hotchat with some competence, and can post a unique, non-form application that you come up with all by yourself.
HotC is an incredibly stable, solid guild. We're going to be here perpetually, and we take a long time evaluating applicants. During your application period, persistence and invitation rest in YOUR hands. We don't track people down. We are perfectly fine in a raiding sense, and aren't desperate for members. Don't expect us to act as if we are.
The applicant we look for most is the talented raider and mature individual who is TIRED of watching guilds implode due to poor, unstable leadership and a lack of drama management. HotC will *never* falter until we as a guild make a decision to depart WoW, which isn't going to be for years still. If you enjoy guild-hopping, and going crazy raiding 5 nights/week+ with a "new" guild formed up by some new or repeat OMG PROGRESS PROGRESS guildmaster ... well, don't apply. We progress at a very rapid pace for the # of hours raided, and our mature and relaxed attitude helps keep us sane while we're at it!
You'll have opportunities to raid with us through all levels of content (Right now, at the time of this posting, Ulduar/Ulduar Hard Modes, and Coliseum). While raiding with us, you'll be eligible for loot just like a member, so will any guests that ever raid with us. That's just how we are.
Let's stop there for now. If you have questions, contact me in-game (Mikevbrandt), or on the TLSC/HotC forums (MVB). If you are a RANGED dps class/spec, you should and can contact Theroc in-game, or Talut. If you are a HEALER, you should and can contact Anilyn in-game. She's got a shiny orange healy hammer ... you can't miss her!
Look forward to any apps we receive, and /cheers Dalaran in general,
- Mikevbrandt, GM & Founder, HotC
