Guild mission statement
Gong Show is a hardcore raiding guild dedicated to finishing the content before it gets nerfed. We are min-maxers who are always looking for ways to improve both the guild, and ourselves as players. While raiding we want to maintain a positive yet serious raid environment in our guild. This means following things:
1. Play like you mean it and have the will to succeed
We want members who are willing put forth the effort to succeed. This means doing your part in the encounters without complaining about your assignments. It also means figuring out how to maximize your effectiveness (be it healing, tanking, or dps) while doing your task. We want people who put the guild ahead of themselves and understand the concept of teamwork. Our members should also have means of managing their time so that they do not continuously have unexpected days when they just can not be online. If you make mistakes, be ready to admit them and take responsibility for those mistakes. You should be ready to learn from other people's mistakes as well, not just your own.
2. Recruitment
We aim to have a solid roster of about 33 to 35 people. We understand that sometimes real life may take people away from the game, which quite often leads to recruiting more players. We never compromise when recruiting new players, and we'd rather raid undermanned than to go with a sub-optimal composition or try to carry a weak player along. Our goal is to maintain a positive raiding environment, meaning that both initiates and members of the guild treat each other with respect, even if they do not agree on something. Cockiness, disrespect, and all-around bad attitudes will not be tolerated, and we expect everyone to work together as a team while raiding even if they are not fond of another player.
Being an initiate in our guild means that we are trying to see how you perform in an intense raid environment and how well you fit with the rest of the guild. After all, applications are just written text and answers given in an interview are just words. We want to see the real deal. As an initiate you should maintain at the bare minimum 90% raid attendance. Should you go below this level you will most likely be removed from the guild.
3. We do not want drama
We want Gong Show to have a good reputation both on the server and off. If your actions in the game or on the forums make Gong Show look like a disrespectful Elitist guild you will get warned. Should this offense happen a second time, you may be outright removed from the guild. This does not mean you can not joke around in the guild or have an intelligent debate on the forums, but flame wars or having such a heated argument that it's on a brink of starting a thermonuclear fusion will not be tolerated.. A good rule for forum posters is think before you post. Don't just post whatever comes to mind, because you'll most likely be making the situation worse by giving the trolls more ammo in which to use.
