Rumor has it you're looking for a progression raiding guild. I
would like to take some of your valuable time to tell you about a
guild I am very proud of and honored to be a member of. We are
Colossus of Eldre'thalas (U.S.) and we are a little different than
your average progression guild. We formed back at the 60 level cap
to focus on molten core and to this day we're still all about the
raiding.
Normally when you hear the phrase progression raiding a few standard stereotypes enter the mind. The primary of which is those progression raiders tend to be a bunch of "elitist solid waste disposal apparatuses" (The nice way of putting it). I can't argue with that stereotype, but you have to trust me on this, that is not how Colossus operates.
In other guilds people wind up sacrificing certain parts of guild life to engage endgame content seriously. Most progression guilds get there kills but don't know each other, they are almost working a second job! They login at the right time press the right things, and when the raid night is over they log off and head to the server they were native to and still have friends on and work on their alts with said friends. Traditionally these progression guilds have 50-60 raiders to fill 25 slots and others in your raid role are considered adversaries and not friends. This is not Colossus.
Our guild is mostly older players. We range from 18 to ready for early retirement with the largest portion in the 25-35 age group. On our off nights we are just a regular guild running 5 mans, leveling alts, maybe the occasional 10 man run, with various statements in guild chat that can include the phrases "your mom", "that's what she said", "wait! you forgot the coffee" and similar. Then there is a magical transformation that happens on raid nights, extra focus is conjured up and we buckle down and give it our best.
Among ourselves we refer to the large guilds who have high churn on applicants and members as "raid mart" its too big and too impersonal, we think of our selves as the mom and pop store of progression raiding. Domino's makes pizza and so does that old Italian guy with the slate oven downtown, just because one does it bigger does not mean one does it better. Because of our smaller size and atypical attitude I am lucky enough to have friends from all over the world, and could not imagine raiding anywhere else.
Our current focus is on the Heroic ToC 25 man dungeon with a minor focus on Ulduar to fill out the remainder of the raid week
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Coldethyl, Zanu, Kelanved or Notankforyou in game or stop by our website http://www.thecolossusguild.com
We raid Wed, Thurs, Sun, and Mon from 8pm Est (8pm server) until midnight Est/server time
We are currently looking to add to our family
The following classes are needed:
Priests(holy, and disc)
Hunters
Druids (bear, kitty, resto)
Warlocks
Deathknight
