Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I heard your guild was casual. Are you telling me the forum trolls lied to me?
A: Shockingly, yes. We don't raid 7 nights a week, but we take raiding seriously and have the progression to prove it. We do have casual members (friends, family, retired raiders) who raid less often and run alt raids, old content, and other less-serious activities. But when it comes to progression, it's game time.

Q: People say you believe RL > WoW so I can still raid even though I can only make 2 days a week, right?
A: Wrong. We raid 3 days a week and we expect you to be there 3 days a week. If you have to miss a day because of an important event (wedding, funeral, hamsterectomy) we understand and you aren't going to lose your spot. But we expect our raiders to maintain an 83.3333 (repeating, of course) percent attendance rating. If you only raid occasionally, you won't raid at all.

Q: Score! So all I have to do is show up and I'll always raid?
A: Not even remotely. First, you have to perform. Anyone expecting to play on our progression team is going to have to be an exceptional player. You have to know your class, adapt quickly to blizzard's oh-so-well-thought-out changes, and study our progression encounters. Second, no matter how good you are, you'll have to sit every now and again. We run with a trim roster, but not a skeletal one (except for the forsaken) because encounter makeups change, absences happen, and the raid must go on. If you're going to whine if sat then whine elsewhere.

Q: How does loot work?
A: Our loot system involves the dark art of divining answers from chicken entrails... I mean loot council. That said, the system is neither arbitrary nor favourtist. We base our decisions on loot counts, attendance, and upgrade caliber. A couple of certainties:
*Being below our attendance threshold means you will not get loot.
*If it's a big upgrade because you haven't bothered to obtained easy-access gear, that works against you.
*Trials/Recruits will not get loot over other raid members (is this really a surprise to anyone?)
Q: Wait, you expect me to get loot outside raids?
A: ..... yes. If you can obtain gear from a normal or heroic 5 man, you're expected to get it (or keep running the instance until you do). If you can get from hero points or honour points, you've got even less of an excuse. Crafted gear is to be obtained at the first opportunity. And maximal gems, enchants, and reforging is a requirement, even if you think you'll get an upgrade soon(tm). We're not in the business of carrying people.

Q: By the way, why is there no apostrophe in "Kalimdors Legion" on the armory?
A: It's hiding from the Grammar Nazis... possibly in the lost sock dimension?
