Guild Information

Catalyst is a competitive raiding guild on the Shattered Halls-US realm, founded on May 15, 2007. Our main focus is 25-man endgame raiding and seeing as much endgame content (if not all) as we can before the next expansion/content patch comes out. Many of our members are also avid PvPers and those who are not, find new ways to challenge themselves in PvE when not raiding.

Leadership

Gaar - Guild Master and Founder

Raesa - Officer and Founder

Runic - Officer and Founder

We are available for any Q&A in-game or through PM on our website.

Beliefs & Conduct

We are a quiet guild that disallows any sort of boasting and trolling of any public avenues of communication (trade channel, realm forums, etc). We have never been a part of server drama and we intend to keep it that way. Throughout our history on Shattered Halls, we've worked hard to keep our reputation untarnished. We treat everyone with respect, within or without the guild, and act with integrity.

If you cannot pledge to be a part of the effort to play nice, then this guild is not for you. We believe that a successful guild is made up of more than achievements and server firsts. Our players are more than vehicles to carry you to your next shiny epic. Remember "people before purples" and you'll do well here.

As far as raiding etiquette goes, this is not a guild for big egos. We're looking for people who are humble and know how to follow directions. There's a time and place for everything. It's perfectly acceptable to joke around and have a grand old time clearing trash but you need to know how to buckle down when it's time for a boss encounter.

Raiding Schedule & Attendance Requirements

Our 25-man raids take place Tuesdays-Thursdays from 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM server time (US Pacific time zone). The rest of the week is referred to as off-nights.

*Catalyst members are free to participate in VoA as they see fit during the week. We no longer schedule it as part of our raid calendar but we do actively organize groups when the opportunity arises.

Invites are sent out 15 minutes before the actual calendar start time. Everyone is expected to be aware of this so be online and ready for the invite. First pull is at the calendar start time so everyone is responsible for getting to the instance and buffed up before this time.

We expect at least 75% attendance from Veterans (senior raiding rank) and at least 50% attendance from Raiders (junior raiding rank). We are aware that real-life comes first and are generally very understanding of any situations that require your attention. The only thing we ask of you is to let us know beforehand.

Off nights are usually used for 10-man groups. Attendance is not required and those that attend are entitled to bring alts or to raid off-spec, if desired. However, certain individuals may be asked to swap to fill needed roles.

Trial Period Expectations

If your app is accepted, you will be invited to a 2 week trial period with the guild as an Adjunct. During these 2 weeks, your conduct and performance will be evaluated both in and out of raids. This 2-week trial may be longer or shorter, depending on your evaluation.

Adjuncts (trial raiding rank) need to meet at least 75% attendance to raids, whether you are in the instance or on the wait list. Adjuncts are more likely to be invited inside the instance on farm nights, while there is little to no chance on progression nights.

Loot

Catalyst uses a fixed-earning silent auction DKP system (via WebDKP.com). Everyone in the instance and on the wait list is awarded a flat amount of DKP for each boss kill. Loot is then distributed by silent auctions. Highest bidder wins.

Off-spec loot is awarded free of charge by either loot council or /roll. When off-spec loot goes to council, those who are asked to swap specs/roles frequently to fill in will be given priority. Loot will go to /roll when there is no discernible reason to award it to one person over another.

Pure DPS classes do not have an off-spec (hunters, mages, rogues, and warlocks). We understand that different specs itemize differently but these classes only have 1 role and that is to kill stuff. Think of off-spec loot as off-role loot.
