What is Echoes?

Echoes is a long standing guild that has been consistently clearing the highest tier of World of Warcraft raiding content at a solid rate since the games inception in Vanilla. We have always been a Horde guild on the Laughing Skull et al cluster, and due to this have a strong community of excellent players, both raiders and socials alike that keep the guild strong. After a breakthrough performance in Cataclysm reaching the top 100 range, we have consistently held this number and ended Legion at rank 73; which is reflective of the significant improvements the guild has gone through in terms of structure and performance over the course of the expansion.

Following the launch of Battle for Azeroth, we have gone from strength to strength and completed Uldir at a world rank of 55. With a solid roster we hope this will continue throughout the rest of the expansion going forward.

What are we currently looking for?

We are currently interested in ANY exceptional applicants that feel they can compete with our current raiders.

This being said, of specific interest to us at the moment is:

Mage DPS.
Strong healer(s).
Potentially Melee dps excluding "fringe" stuff like rets, enhs, ferals and the like (as we already have plenty of those).

Bear in mind we aren't closed off to players willing to reroll to another class that fits the roster, assuming you are open to putting the effort in to catch up and get a character suitably ready for our raid requirements.

Also don't be afraid to apply if you see players currently playing the spec you want to at a high level, they may also be willing to reroll to accomodate you if you show promise.

Any spots advertised will always be for the main progression team, and you will be heavily prioritised based on your performance. Don't assume this mean you will always get a spot, but we will always find a way for you to get play time with each tier.

Split Expectations

Throughout Legion we expected every player to maintain at least one other alt character at a level comparable to a main if possible for the purpose of split raids, and this has continued in Battle for Azeroth based on the experience we had in Uldir.

Bear in mind that any above that number will be considered and is greatly encouraged allowing for us to have more flexible compositions on bosses, and if you are able to do this will be a huge boost to your application.

This expectation doesn't strictly extend to being able to play the alt as well as your main character, but it always needs to perform adequately enough to allow for gear funnelling if necessary in future raid tier releases. If you're a player able to perform with an alt at a high level however, you will be prioritised and ultimately geared for an encounter if it has a particular advantage (and note that if this is the case, you will be expected to play it during progress).

Alt raids are common in Echoes, mostly with the players who play a variety of classes throughout each tier making it easy to jump in and gear up a character and keep your characters up to date. These are always non-mandatory and are sporadic during progress when time allows, but when a tier ends these are sometimes heavily encouraged to help gear up potentially beneficial characters. This is especially important now that alt item level dictates the ability to trade loot due to the new Personal system, so may require you to attend an additional raid above the 1-2 mandatory days during farm.

If all of this interests you and Echoes looks like a potential home, please be aware that you will still need to compete with all of our current raiders to earn your place in the roster (both in terms of mechanical performance in an encounter and damage/healing output), especially those who share the same class/spec/role as you. We currently have all of our logs public, and you can check below to see how you stack up:

What can Echoes offer me?

-A stable, yet flexible raiding environment in which you can play competitively with room to grow as a player.

-Progress at a steady, constant, and high end rate.

-A home and community which you are encouraged to be a part of both outside and inside of raids.

-Vibrant and welcoming farm raids as long as you can take some banter from long standing players.

-A well formed Alt community between players allowing for you to find something to do even on empty days of the week.

-A flourishing group of players who are very engaged in Mythic+ outside of raid hours.

The Echoes Environment:

-Raid spots are granted to players based on a combination of performance and attendance. If you are not consistently available for the bosses that your spec is very powerful for, then don't expect to have concessions made for you on other encounters. Likewise, if you are unable to outperform other players in the same role or spec then the composition will generally be built to reflect that - we always reward the players who are consistently strong.

-If you can prove your ability, Echoes will make room for a player of any spec; just know that is judged by a mixture of attitude and a little bit of flexibility with your raid spots - the goal is always for the guild to succeed and you will be a part of that.

-We organise and encourage alt raids throughout each tier, alongside a healthy Mythic+ environment both for gear farming and key pushing.

Raid Times:

One of the most important factors for raids are stability, and as such we emphasise that players are able to consistently attend the majority of all raid nights on time. This also includes being able to stay for the entire raid (though there are intermittent breaks throughout all of our raid times so players aren’t forced to sit still for the entire evening). If you don’t feel you could do this reliably, this will probably be a dealbreaker:

Wednesday: 20:00 - 23:30
Thursday: 20:00 - 23:30
Sunday: 20:00 - 23:30
Monday: 20:00 - 23:30
Tuesday: 20:00 - 23:30 - (first two weeks following Mythic release if deemed reasonable)

After Legion showed how much time was required outside of regular raid hours, we have restructured down to a 4 day raid schedule from 5 which we have carried forward into BfA and stuck to rigidly. The 5th day (being Tuesday) is something that will be used in the first two weeks of Mythic raid release each tier to make sure we have room to clear splits and have solid progress time before we lower the split time dedication, if we do decide to use them at all. Whilst many guilds state that the extra days are "non-mandatory" heroic raids, we are very clear and upfront: "if you want purps you turn up", as it's necessarily to adequately clear early farm when content is fresh.

Invites start 15 minutes before the aforementioned raid start time. That means we have a 15 minute gathering up period before the first pull to sort out the raid, allow for people logging on late, setup adjustments and other nuances. We encourage people to be outside the instance prior to invites so as to be mentally prepared for the mindset of raiding - going straight from Orgrimmar to the instance doesn't usually result in a very focused start.

Where do I apply?

If you consider yourself exceptional and feel you can challenge our current raiders, then do not let our class-based recruitment hinder you, we welcome the opportunity to integrate top quality players into our roster. Gear and logs are typically not an issue - the transfer fee is your money: if you think you can prove yourself in a trial we will usually give you one. However, do note that during progression we will not be farming old content (or any content) to gear you up unless you can prove you are worthy of it - if you apply during progression you will need to have sufficient gear to dive into new content and logs to prove your ability.

If you have any questions or queries or would like more info, please do not hesitate to contact any officer in-game or via Discord - whatever works for you.

See you soon, and hopefully in Echoes!
