Who Are We?

Societas Carpathica is a World of Warcraft Alliance guild on the EU-The Maelstrom realm. We are a social/raiding guild, presently focusing on 10 man Firelands progression.

That’s what we sell ourselves as, anyway… If you disregard the less serious guild jingles floating every now and again on trade chat.

But you shouldn’t.

You shouldn’t, because those are arguably the only pieces (the ones we won’t generally deny) you can pick up to cobble a picture of what it’s like on the inside.

Whether it’s the slave add, the meat shield add, The Recruit-a-Hoe Day Special (don’t add that in, we’re still denying that one – e.n.), or whatever else someone might’ve thrown in there in an euphoric haze one time and it stuck, those are the few things that you can see to give you an idea of what makes this one guild different from all the others. In a world with numberless guilds, many more focused progress wise than us or filled to the brim with social members and flowing with the feel of a chatroom, we offer nothing objective. We can only call ourselves jacks of all trades if your idea of the distance between that and master is very giving.

At the expense of the above, where guilds focus and specialize, we strive to stay a guild guild, where people actively looking for a community will find one, one where people get to know each other, chat and play the game in all its facets.

The feeling is not perceived straight away by those newly joining us and people may feel alienated when they see lack of activity, unanswered questions over guild chat or long periods of silence, but if they try to get in contact with us themselves and spend any amount of time doing the random things we do, they’ll notice activity quickly picks up when we set ourselves to a task, the questions get answered through mumble and the dead silence on guild chat overlaps with mad ravings, screams and general mirth over voice chat.

Because we’re there, in one form or another. Whether it’s raiding, doing arenas or even running away from the third boss in Stonecore to have an epic fight with him at the entrance, we are ALWAYS there, talking, and, if you’re next to us, odds are it’s about you and we’re planning something (emphasize how leet we are, e.n.). :P
