“Pure Magic” Guild

Pure Magic is a (25 man) horde raiding guild on Turalyon (EU). Our guild was founded 01/25/2010.

Recruitment information
Pure magic is always looking to add players to its ranks. We just dont add very often. You have to be exceptional, so this post tells you what we are looking for. One of the primary things we look for in a guild member is the ability to follow instructions and communicate well. Reading this post, following the instructions and producing a well written application will increase your chances of being accepted. Do you ignore application information, instantly decline of your application, also you wont be able to apply again and get accepted. We seek dedicated raiders that can follow simple instructions, also raiders that already by nature would put a huge effort into an application.

Raid times
•Tuesday (from 19:30 Server time)
•Thursday (from 19:30 Server time)
•Sunday (from 19:30 Server time)
Typically we try to finish raids by 23:00 server time. But things can and do take longer sometimes. In exceptional circumstances we may raid on different days but this is published in advance and is the exception rather than the rule. Outside of these times many guild members run unofficial raids in order to progress towards our collective goals (having fun outsite raids). We expect people to enjoy playing WoW and to want to log on every day. Raiders that just come online to raid wont give the guild tools in form of friendships, teamwork and knowing each other. Pure Magic isnt just another hardcore raid guild, we stick togther in even the hardest periods. Helping a guild member getting hes mount from xxx, or doin some arena. Its not just about personal goals, but goals for the guild overall.

Our raid invites start 19:30, we have start dkp 19:45 (19:45 you must be ready insite or outsite instance) 20:00 we pull, all must be buffed and ready.

Main characters and progression


We recruit people for a particular character that we nominate as their main. This is the character we expect them to bring on all official raids and focus on developing. The balance of the guild is based upon people playing and progressing their main characters. This is a fundamental facet of being in Pure magic, and so if you cannot accept it from the outset you should not apply. Furthermore we expect most high level alts on the server to be guilded with us so we can communicate with each other easily and gather people for other events.

PvP/Arena, PVE

Pure magic is a PVE guild. To this end we only run offical PVE raids and dont have any official PVP groups. With that said we do encourage and help members to participate in PVP where this does not interfere with our PVE objectives. Furthermore the guild has a large pool of motivated, intelligent and well equipped characters.

Hardware and connection

The nature of many raids means that there will be a large number of characters in close proximity to one another fighting dozens of mobs and casting many spells. Every single member has to be able to perform under those conditions. This means your hardware has to be up to the job of displaying all of this and allowing you to function and react at the same time. Furthermore your connection needs to be reliable enough that you wont be disconnecting, lagging badly or needing to reconnect. You must be able to do your job reliably on raids or you arent any good to us.

Voice communication

We use Ventrilo for communication during raids. It is absolutely required that you have the Ventrilo client installed and working so you can join our server. All guild members must be able to listen to Ventrilo during a raid and it is highly recommended that you have a working microphone so you can speak over it as well.

Experience and attitude

You should know your main character inside out and be proactive in researching the latest theorycrafting for it. We provide a fertile atmosphere for discussing and refining cutting edge strategies but we are not interested in people that need to be told how to play.

You should know all of the zones, dungeons, raids and bosses in the game - either through personal experience or as a result of reading strategies, watching videos and taking part in discussions about them. You should know how your character works on raids and in a general sense what will be expected of you. This is not a guild for people who are still learning the game.

Raiding requires people to listen and act. This doesn't sound very difficult but you would be surprised at how many people can't do this. The raid leaders will need your undivided attention for the duration of the raid and will expect you to respond to what they say.

Pure magic is a good guild to be part of. With that said sometimes things go wrong and people naturally get upset. This means if you screw up then expect to be told about it, especially if you just messed up everyones raid that evening. Learn from this and move on. We dont want drama queens who leave us at the slightest hint of criticism. We are all passionate about the guild and the game so things can get heated at times. If you dont think you would be able to cope with this then dont bother applying.

Player history

Many of our members are friends in real life or have gotten to know each other well from playing together over the years. It is in your best interests to be honest and upfront from the start about who you are, why you want to join and what history you have within WoW. If we find out that you lied or attempted to mislead us then you will be removed from the guild.

Character requirements

As part of your application you will be required to provide a URL to your armory profile. We want players who maximize their character, and have the best enchants, gems and professions available to them. The better your character development and the more you can show a clear objective with your choices the greater the likelihood of us taking you seriously. If Armory isnt working (check it before you apply) Then you must be able to provide a full item link of every item you got, along with gems / glyphs / specs and then a WOL showing you have done xxx encounters.
