“Halcyon” Guild

Halcyon is an English-speaking 10man heroic raiding guild on Twisting Nether.
Despite the relatively new name, Halcyon on has been together as a guild under the name Serendipity on Sunstrider for around 2 years prior to migrating here and during that time we achieved server top 5-10 kills on most heroic bosses throughout Cataclysm without ever needing to resort to a n@zi-esque raiding environment. We pride ourselves on being able to remain competitive and still have fun on a relatively light schedule but that said, we require focus from everyone during any farm, and especially progress boss attempt.
Here in Halcyon we have 1 shared love: Killing raid bosses. We expect anyone applying to the guild to share this same love.


We raid 3 days per week during progress:

What we require from you:

Skill. You need to know how to get the most out of your class through min-maxing and adapting to mechanics on a fight by fight basis.

Dedication. You must be able to keep focus when we wipe. Wiping is part of learning a new boss/tactic/hard-mode. Do not be surprised if a few wipes are spent on adjusting.
We require all of our raiders to maintain at least 90% attendance. This includes being contactable via internet or phone during raiding hours to sub in when needed if you weren't initially picked.

Communication. You Must be able to both understand and speak clear English on Mumble. We need to be able to point out and correct errors constructively and efficiently.


Social intelligence. We spend a lot of time together, and for everyone to have a good time it is important that you know how to interact with other people without causing too much tension.

In addition to the above points, proven experience with hardcore/semi-hardcore raiding is also a big plus.

As our raiding core consists of both students, unemployed and employed people and our raiding times are set so as to make it possible to both play on a high level in WoW and keep a job or succeed at school. During progress we raid at 3 days per week, from 19:45 until 00:00.

Don't apply if:

PART 1 (too young, too soon, too short)
- Due to the adult nature of much of our chat and our previous bad experiences with 'Mommy not the Modem,' we require all applicants to be a minimum of 18 years old. (No Exceptions).
- You’re going to quit within the next 3 months.
- You have ebayed chars during your Wow career, or share accounts.

PART 2 ("don't give me that, Beard")
- You're emo, inflexible, unable to follow rules or hold your temper under high pressure.
- You cant handle what can be at times, direct criticism.
- You have a sweet spot for drama or gossip or you're an attention seeker.

PART 3 ("I have a rl too, you know?")
- You consistently show up 10 minutes after raid starts or vanish immediately after.
- You cant maintain raiding 3 days per week, *excluding situations where real life has to take priority of course.*
- You cant handle raiding more than 1 day per week in essential periods of progression.
