We’re a fun-loving guild with a great collective sense of vent humor, and we try to keep a good balance in raids of humor and focus to down new content. We love doing PvP, alt runs, and other fun stuff on off nights, but our overriding goal is to assemble a group of skilled, dedicated raiders that can progress through difficult content.
We believe in a system that allows newer recruits to quickly gain equal status with longtime members. We use the EPGP loot system, which has worked very well for us in promoting fair loot distribution. For a detailed explanation of how EPGP works, take a look at http://www.epgpweb.com/help/system . The key advantage of this system is that recent attendance and recent loot are weighted more heavily than raids from the more distant past. This means that new players can compete for loot very early on, and unlike systems like DKP, it is impossible for longtime members to accumulate insurmountable leads on the loot list, and then take many items over other players in a short period. This coincides with our philosophy of allowing any member to gain recognition for their skills in raids and commitment to the guild.

Our “core member” rank, Raider, is attainable by a skilled and dedicated player within 2 months of joining the guild, and even players who have been in Unity for a year or more must maintain their high level of play in order to keep that rank. The flip side to this is that any Unity member, whether they’ve been in the guild for a month or a year, is always in competition to earn or keep their raid slot. We believe that some level of competition amongst guild members leads to overall improvement, and also shows us who can handle setbacks. Our rank system is fluid by design; we want to ensure that those who have earned perks and promotions get them, and that those who may have been slacking a bit don’t continue to enjoy privileges they aren’t continuing to earn. It is a fair system and has done us very well for a long time.

Our ranking system in the guild works as follows:

Alt: You are welcome to bring your alts into the guild. If you are planning on doing any raiding content with a toon, they are expected to be in the guild. If you are caught raiding on an alt with another guild, you will be removed from Unity. With guild leveling potentially being a factor in progression, this is especially important.

Initiate: When first brought into the guild, you will be given this rank. This rank will last 4 weeks or less. Based on performance, and citizenship within the guild, you will be either given the Member rank, or the Raider rank. This rank will be allowed to raid, but will not receive invites before Members or Raiders.

Initiates are not allowed to PUG 10/25 man content outside of the guild with their toon.

Member: Member is the rank for aspiring raiders, as well as casuals. Members are allowed to raid, but do not have priority over Raider rank for raid spots. Members are not allowed to PUG 10/25 man content outside of the guild (with any of their toons), and are expected to have ALL alts within the guild.

PVP Member: This rank is reserved for those that only choose to PVP. This rank will not be allowed to raid. If you wish to raid and PVP, the Member or Raider rank will be given, depending on raid attendance.

Raider: This is the desired rank in Unity once you hit 85, and begin gearing in Heroics to raid. Raiders are the guildies that want to raid, and that do it very well. Raiders get extra perks in the guild, such as guaranteed invites, free flasks/guild bank repairs, and priority on recipe/orb drops. In order to become (and stay) a raider, you must fulfill the following requirements:

- 80% raid attendance (on a rolling 4 week schedule).

- Skill: I love people that show up to raids, but if you show up and suck it up every single night, then it is not worthwhile. I don't have much tolerance for playing the "my PC sucks" card either, because a PC that can run WoW well is very affordable these days. You will lose your Raider rank for constant disconnects/poor framerate deaths. If you can't take constructive criticism, you will not be a good raider. Even I understand there are always improvements to be made.

*Note* We understand real life happens and expect the Raider rank to to be given/removed often. If you lose the rank, remember, you can always obtain it again!

Legacy: This rank is set aside for players that have been with us a long time and will always have a home in the guild, regardless of their attendance. They will not get your raid spots or your loot. Many of these people are military folks serving overseas! We have tons of military in the guild, wish those guys and gals the best!

Raid Leader: Coordinates with Officer Corps. and runs Raids

Officer: My officers help me run the raids, take attendance, track loot, and hold law and order in the wild west of gchat. Respect them and they will respect you. Currently, our officers are Animagi, Hemo, Drettok, Wolfson, and Cosmashiva. If you have any questions, these are the guys to reach out to. I will be looking for a few new additions to that roster soon.

GM: thats me!

If you are interested in applying to the guild, please see the recruitment section in our forums.
