About Risk

Our Raid Mentality

First off, thanks for your interest in joining our group of exceptional players. We are ALWAYS looking for fresh blood to reinvigorate the current player base. Everyone who is a part of Risk believes that preparation and competition are the key elements to making people play better and as a result makes our guild that much better. If you cannot get behind that mentality we suggest you read no further. With that said it should be known that if you are selected for a spot in Risk you are expected at all times to be at your best which means you are to maintain a level of consistency in your numbers and overall performance. Slacking is never tolerated. No one is safe from this rule, officers included. We strive week in and week out to put together the best players on our server to achieve true greatness. As such we believe putting together the best composition is key to optimizing our raid, which means that there may be times you are sat just to fill that role during hard progression.

Goals

For over two years now Horde side Mannoroth has been a joke, and as a whole Mannoroth has been lackluster in staying competitive with few exceptions. Our goal is to change the perspective of what is acceptable and what is not. To redefine the Mannoroth raiding experience and to push our server back to the forefront of its previous greatness.

Raid Dates & Times

Our current raid days are Tuesday and Thursday. Using Sunday as a clean up day during hard progression.

Raid invites and on time attendance go out at 7:45pm(EST) and you are always expected to be ready to pull at 8pm sharp. Showing up at 8pm is not acceptable and you will be penalized for it.

We raid until Midnight (EST) most nights and sometimes go later depending on current progression.

Attendance Expectations

We understand, people get busy with real life, school, work the usual culprits of poor attendance exist. With that said we believe that raiding is a commitment just like playing a sport or belonging to a club. That commitment though is even more important with raiding, week in and week out people will count on you and as such we have a very strict attendance policy.

We expect nothing less than 90% Attendance from all raiders, and 100% attendance from all applicant. If you cannot gaurantee this than don't bother applying.

Our Application Process

Candidates for Risk are expected to pass three specific criteria, they are:

Consistent high caliber log performance - Applicants just like raiders of Risk are expected to perform at the highest of their abilities and compete with the current player base that we have to earn their spot. There is no drag on the meters allowed. Healers and Tank applicants are expected to know how and when to use their cool downs to mitigate or repel incoming raid wiping mechanics and do so while keeping pace with others of their roles. DPS classes are expected to consistently output high numbers and in turn push our raiders to perform that much better.
A full understanding of the current tier of encounters - This means that all applicants are expected to know the current tier of fights completely, even if we aren't working on the fight that night or our content is on farm status you are expected to jump in and fill whatever role is asked of you and to fully understand exactly what that role entails. Be it interrupting or soaking damage or any of the other possible mechanics that bosses throw at the raid, if you are asked to come in you are expected to be able to fully function without being babysat.
Desire - The word desire in this context may seem strange to you, if it does, than clearly you do not share the same mentality that we do here at Risk. We use this word to define the very essence of what this guild is about. We aim to be the best and we will stop at nothing to achieve this. To be a member of Risk you must truly desire greatness. We measure this not by attendance of by how often you are online (while those are important), we believe that desire is shown through the way you present yourself, the extent you are willing to take part in discussions on our forums to improve things, and lastly the way that you interact with other members of the team.

Gear expectations

This should go without saying but we will only ever recruit players who's gear level matches or is only slightly behind that of our most geared raiders. The reasoning behind this is to promote a completely balanced raid environment where we are always able to push to the very limit of what is possible.

Loot distribution

We use EPGP.

Submitting an application

If you feel you can meet and surpass the required criteria expected for all Risk candidates than please head over to our recruitment page and fill out an application. Please answer all the questions asked and don't be afraid to go into detail. Once you have done that please make sure you consistently check your application for posts and questions. Raiders and Officers will post comments and try to interact with you over the next few days.
