“Stygian” Guild

Guild Info:
Stygian was founded by raiders that have experienced content at the highest level and strive to keep pushing our limits. We are currently in the midst of filling out our core and are looking for motivated and patient individuals to be the foundation of a guild that is aiming for success in Cataclysm. We are still striving to finish out this current expansion to expect to complete the content this expansion has to offer. We encourage a more relaxed atmosphere where we are still focused and serious when it comes to progression. We also enjoy other aspects of the game as well such as achievements/ALTs, so if you are looking for a focused and determined guild that strives for PVE success then we may be a good fit for you.

We stress that we are looking for individuals that will be patient to help grow the guild from the ground up and we are not planning on rushing the process as we understand it takes time to find all the quality individuals we are looking for. We will be glad to explain our current situation to interested prospects so you will understand the environment that you will be raiding in and the core that will be leading us towards success.

Raiding Core Experience:

The officer core has been playing since release with experience in every raid zone, clearing all content up through ToGC. With a long history of server firsts in 10s/25s content, our officer core is also experienced in guiding successful PUG 25s to clearing content swiftly and smoothly. With our previous experience, we are determined to create a successful PVE guild for the rest of WOLTK and into Cataclysm.

Raiding Schedule:

Tuesday - Thursday: 7pm - 11pm (EST)

(Off Days - Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon) ** NOT Mandatory, but most likely ALTs/10s will be scheduled for these days

What we're looking for (in no specific order):

Reliability - We are looking for honest, responsible and trustworthy players. The ideal applicant would be a good person that doesn't use the internet as an excuse to be an asshole. They would also always let us know in advance when they are going to miss a raid night.

Personality - We are looking for mature players that can take a joke and not be easily offended. The ideal applicant would be capable of receiving criticism without taking it personally. We also stress a relaxed guild atmosphere where we understand that this is a game after all so the ideal candidate would be able to stay calm and collected even through tough progression where their moods are not easily changed just because we wiped a few times.

Gear - While we don't have any specific gear requirements, your gear is an indication of your competence and effort you've put into your character. We only expect you to have the best gear reasonably available at your current level of progress.

Skill - We are looking for players that know how to play in a team environment. Topping the healing and damage meters is great, but we're really looking for players that can stay alive during encounters and not be the cause of your own death or another player's death. Again I stress that we are looking for team players that will prioritize what is best for the raid rather than their individual numbers.

Initiative - Our ideal applicant keeps up to date on their class and boss strategies and won't need to be told to enchant or gem their gear and will always bring the correct consumables to raid.

Intelligence - We are looking for individuals that can think for themselves and can contribute to boss strategies in a meaningful way. Of course strategies will be given by the raid leader of the guild, but this individual should be able to ask questions and know how to fit into the strategy the guild has chosen to use.
