General Guild Guidelines

As a guild with high aspirations, Still Fly is looking for the best and the brightest players to boost our ranks. We’re looking for people who enjoy playing the game and who are not only looking to raid, but participate in other aspects of the game as well. In each new member we look for a few common factors that, we believe, are benchmark characteristics in every solid player.

Members must share our common goal. We are not just a guild about defeating the most difficult encounters in the game. We are about making the game fun for each and every member. We work as a team to reach our goals, with the belief that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. When we raid we are working as one well oiled machine, rather than a bunch of people working for their own benefit. If your primary focus in the high-end game is to acquire loot, then we are not the right guild for you. We consider loot to be a byproduct of our goals, which is to progress as a guild, experience “The End Game Content” and have fun while we are doing it. We are looking for players who want to better their gaming experience with a close-knit group of friends.

Our loot system consists of Loot Council. When we are distributing loot we will discuss different aspects of how each individual player deserves the loot. Attendance, Raid Readiness and other aspects of raiding will be discussed when distributing. On the same note remember that if loot is your primary goal in end-game raiding you are better off somewhere else.

We want our applicants to be dedicated. Dedicated is coming up to a new encounter and knowing you are willing to come to as many raids as it takes to master the encounter. It's not taking the day off because you think you may not get loot but instead being happy for your fellow guildmates when they acquire something because you know it will better your guild as a whole. We take no shortcuts, no matter how daunting a repair bill may seem, we press on to victory.

As well as dedicated our raiders must have a basic knowledge of raid encounters before we enter. We plan to post raid encounter guides via a textual forum post and at later dates possibly move to textual and video posts. You can learn the encounters by any means necessary, within reason that is.

Applicants must be willing to listen to your guildmates ideas on an encounter without demeaning their ideas or insulting their intelligence. You must be willing to try what may seem far-fetched because in the end that could be the winning strategy. We are all teammates and friends and a disrespectful attitude will not be tolerated, at all.

Applicants must be able to attend all scheduled raiding days. These are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Raid invites start 15 mins before raid and raid gets underway at 8:00 pm CST. Raiding will end at 11:00pm CST. It is required all raiders be ready to zone into the instance by the time the raid gets underway. We ask that all raiders are available to stay the whole duration.

All new members must be willing to use mumble as a requirement of becoming a member of Still Fly. During a raid you must always be in the same vent channel as the rest of the guild, no exceptions. As well during raid encounters mumble is expected to be quiet except for Tanks and/or Raiders calling out certain abilities. If you are shy, do not apply.
