About XW
========

XW has been raiding since the good old days on Warsong, initially as part of four guild alliance known as XTRB (XW, The Devastating Throng, Black Ravens and Blood Pact) but since TBC we've expanded to raid on our own. So far in WotLK we're currently at:

FL - 6/7
FL heroic - 0/7

Outside of raiding we think of ourselves as a friendly, laid back guild where members are expected to respect each other and not take loot too seriously.

What we're looking for
======================

We don't expect you to

* make every raid, we understand people have real lives, holidays, exams, etc. Although if our raid times don't look any good you may want to look elsewhere.
* have amazing gear. We *don't* expect to have to gear you up completely - we don't want to be farming gear in order for you to be able pull your weight in raids. This means you'll currently have a few bits from the easy ICC bosses, all the badge gear you can lay your hands on, and some decent ToC pieces making up the remainder.
* be able to solo every ICC boss - just the odd one now and again when the rest of the raid has, erm, taken a lie down.


We do expect to you

* know how to play your class
* take raids seriously, be able to focus and come prepared (you bring the flasks and we'll bring the fish feasts)
* be able to stay out of the fire (or in the fire if needs be)
* read up on fights, follow instructions, and be prepared to wipe learning them
* have a good command of the English language
* be a friendly, mature, good natured person, because none of the above matters if you're a jackass.
* be able to provide a list of your favourite alcoholic beverages as part of your application...


Loot distribution
================

We don't use a DKP system.

We use a system of rank-based priorities, so that raiders will get their main-spec gear before trialists. However, this does mean that you will not get priority on particular pieces of 'omg BIS' loot above people that have just passed their trial no matter how much it matches your spec / tabard colour / moral stance on Murlocs*.

If you are the sort of person that has a shopping list of items they 'need', and that you would feel more entitled to than someone of equal rank that has been here for less time, then this is probably not the guild for you.

However, this also means that new members are not penalised by an established raider base with lots of DKP stashed up. Our members pass to each other where they believe that their fellow raider's need is greater than their own, and so the core of our system is trust, respect and consideration of others.

Hence the need for members to be mature, good natured and considerate of others.


The science part
================

Our 25-man raid times, in which we currently focus on ICC, are as follows:

Monday, 20:30 - 23:30ish
Thursday, 20:30 - 23:30ish
Sunday, 20:30 - 23:30ish
(server time)

Alternatively, we also run 10-man raids on non-25-man days.
