We are in the final stages of recruiting individuals for our 10-person raiding groups.

The semantic origin for our name was born from the common and consistent actions noted to take place in so many other guilds. Hypocrisy is the act of persistently pretending to hold beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that one does not actually hold. Hypocrisy is thus a kind of lie. Our name was forged in irony and molded to reflect our insatiable motivation to always stand by our beliefs, our opinions, and our standards. Even though doing such may have resulting circumstances that make us less than popular. Our battle standard, consequenly, is a symbol reflecting this Guild's committment toward truth of word, truth of action, and truth of spirit. Victory lies in truth. In Hoc Signo Vinces!

Members of Hypocrisy share several common characteristics with one another. The greatest, however, is that each strives to create a more perfect raid group; a solid mixture of committed players with various temperaments, talents, and convictions all working in harmony with one another, under one banner, toward a singular purpose. This 'purpose' is not so much a boss defeat as it is climbing to a unique level that few raid groups ever achieve: To become an of one mind group. This is to say that each and every one of our raiders can say, with absolute confidence and indisputable self-assuredness, "I have fought the good fight. The white cross of Hypocrisy has gained new luster from my efforts."

Our guild focus is to recruit, roughly, 40 talented and invested individuals. Hypocrisy will never become bloated with players, and as such our guild will remain mid-sized, in number, but big in focus! Hypocrisy is not now, nor ever will be, interested in 25-person raids. We do, however, encourage all of our raiders to venture out and join in with other guilds and raiding groups that are engaged with 25-person content. We do ask, though, that our raiders be available during guild runs.

Our guild extends to great lengths to create a drama-free environment but rather our interests are slightly more elevated, and lie in creating and nurturing a small community of close-knit players that communicate well with one another, and enjoy playing the game more than playing upon others. Consequently, the average age of a Hypocrisy member tends to skew older than the realm average.

Gear score and meters are important, yes, but represent just a few of the many variables necessary and absolutely essential for a successful raid outcome. To focus only on these forms of one-dimensional measurements is counterproductive, as neither reality nor most of the WoW encounters occur in a vacuum. As such the posting of meters, either in guild chat and/or during a raid, is strictly forbidden. The act of doing such may result in the dismissal of that guild member or raider. Our loot distribution system is governed by a Council of three individuals: a group appointed tank, a group appointed healer, and a group appointed DPS. More important, however, is that the Council will award gear measured against the overall betterment of the raid as opposed to the glorification of the individual. Yes, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one. Moreover, the Council will have an overarching motivation to gear tanks and healers first, then progress with loot distribution for the rest of the raid group.

Our raid composition maintains a driving focus favoring that of survivability over damage per second (DPS). This is not to say that DPS is unimportant to a raid. However, our Guild's underlying theorycrafting highlights success with most boss encounters by how well our raiders pay attention to their surroundings, each other, and how well each incorporate their class/spec survival mechanics. Success, as measured by a member of Hypocrisy, is not so much how well our raiders follow instructions; but, more appropriate to reality, it is what our raiders do and how they react when the unexpected and the unplanned occurs.
