<Dissonance> is a semi-hardcore Alliance raiding guild on the
Dragonblight-Fenris merged server. It's a medium population PvE
server with more Alliance than Horde.
We started on Ner'Zhul in Burning Crusade and have been around since then. We've always cleared the current content, even with our light raiding schedule and we benefit from having some really good players. Various members have been in top 10 US progression guilds at times, but now play more casually here as real life has caught up to us. Some members have wives, children, and jobs even. We've moved out of our basements and dorm rooms over the past 10 years of WoW and have had to get normal lives to go with the fun times of playing video games with friends.
As of WoD we're raiding 3 days a week, 2 hours a night. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 6pm-8pm PST or 9pm-11pm EST. Most of us play more than that, but this is all that's scheduled - real life needs it's place too. There are usually low key alt raids on the weekends for example. We'd like people to be around for most of the raids only missing 1 every couple weeks or so. This light of a schedule mandates we have a cohesive skilled raid group without a lot of moving parts. Most of us maintain alts in order to fill other roles as needed in encounters as well. Raids are low-drama, no yelling affairs. If we wipe all night on a boss, we just come back the next night and try to play better. You are, however; expected to know the fights and have consumables and optimized characters to get as much out of them as possible.
We generally use free roll for loot with a main spec-> off spec priority. There's no council or DKP system. Players are expected to not be idiots and think of others as well as themselves.
We will be raiding Mythic as the schedule and pace of progression allows.
