Thursday: 8:00 p.m. - 10:30(+/-) p.m. ET

Current Recruitment Needs:

PLEASE NOTE that we are looking for people who are interested not just in raiding, but in being active members of our community, and are comfortable with our expectations and approach. See below for much more information before applying.

We are not actively recruiting for raiding at this time, as team is near/at capacity. However, we will still consider applicants who wish to join our community and raid with us, though raid spots (consistent or otherwise) may not be available. Social, non-raiding applications (particularly from friends and family of current members) are always welcome.

Typically applicants will be briefly interviewed by several officers and/or may be asked to join a raid or dungeon run to get to know us, and vice versa.

-------------------

Hello!

<Tears of Vengeance>, founded shortly after WoW’s release, is one of Kargath's most-established and warmest guilds.

About ToV: Our main goal is to build a community that fosters strong relationships and enhances our members' lives. We think of ourselves as more than just a guild, but as a bit of a family; most of our members have been with us for years, and many of those who leave our community eventually miss it and come back home. We try to maintain a congenial atmosphere and strongly discourage political, religious, profane, or otherwise disruptive rants. At most times (except perhaps in those end-of-xpac doldrums) we are quite active, with members online a large fraction of the time. We support each other in game and beyond. More than any boss kill, we take pride in times we've been there for members who've had real life crises.

About raiding with us: We have team members who are married, have kids, jobs, etc. We have a lot of raid experience and to varying degrees a lot of experience raiding with each other. While our raid team structure has changed over the years (in response, partly, to changes in the game itself), our raid history dates back to Vanilla WoW with new folks joining in every expansion. We currently run a single raid team three nights a week, but we balance progression with having a good time, plan ahead by taking nights off on big holidays, and understand that people have real lives and adjust accordingly. We have low turnover (and low burnout) because above all, we raid to have fun with guildmates whose company we genuinely enjoy. Our raid loot policy - and much of our core philosophy - is built around the DBAJ principle (don't be a jerk). For more on that, see expectations below or feel free to ask any guild officer.

What you can expect from ToV:
- We are a democratic guild. If you join, you will have the opportunity to help shape our future. The Guild Master and the major officer positions are decided in periodic elections, and any major decisions are brought to a guild discussion and vote if necessary.
- We say "if one member has a problem, the guild has a problem." We won't always be able to please everyone, and we make mistakes, but we do our best to make sure everyone's concerns are heard and responded to.
- We will treat you with respect and see you as a person - not just a class, a spec, and a pile of gear.
- If you join us, you join our community; if at some point you can no longer raid, we will NOT remove you.
- We try to keep together friends and family. We cannot promise that your friends and family will be able to raid regularly with us, but we encourage and welcome their applications to our guild.
- We will always respect the fact that your real life takes priority over anything WoW-related. A good number of our members are couples, parents, and/or have other family and other responsibilities; we know what peoples' priorities should be.

What we expect from our members:
- That you have fun!
- That you be respectful to other players - not just fellow guild members, not just members of the Alliance faction, not just folks on Kargath and the connected realms. Your presence in game, in trade or other chat, on forums, on Discord, and elsewhere should reflect this.
- That you realize loot isn't why we play this game. Even the best items in WoW will be obsolete next expansion, but hopefully the friendships you form and the memories you take will be with you for years.
- That you make an effort to get to know and go on runs with your fellow guildmates (not just those that raid). People who only ever log on for raids will get a lot less out of ToV, and ToV will get a lot less out of them.
- That if/when you do come to raids, you focus and do your best to be prepared. This includes having read up on or watched progression fights we expect to do, being repaired, having consumables, etc. This may sound like a hard-core progression-oriented expectation, but it isn't; it is disrespectful to your fellow guildmates to come to a raid and unnecessarily hold the group up, go afk, or not pay attention.
- That if you have criticisms/suggestions, you voice them in a constructive fashion.
- That you acknowledge you don't know everything and are willing to take advice if it's offered to you in a constructive fashion. We would rather take an okay player that's willing to learn and has a great attitude than a good player who thinks he's God's gift to WoW.
