The Blackwing Liars

A newly formed guild born from the want to drive raiding progress further than we've been before with a core of like-minded players that have been around since the first hamster was unleashed into the wheel that powers Nordrassil. If you're looking for a tight knit group of players who want progress with a fun environment but also know how to put their game faces on and get messy, look no further. We also have had guild meets in the past and plan to do so in the future so you can learn to know who's behind the hair, hooves and spells
Is this the guild for me?
If you can perform well, know your class and have a friendly, helpful attitude you'll slot right in amongst BL players. A sense of humour and maturity is a must with an open mind to improve and help others improve to maintain a high standard of performance.


Requirements:

• Good communication with ability to talk on Ventrilo.
• The willingness to come to raids prepared - Pots, flasks, food for the entirety of the raid.
• A passion for raiding and a thirst for the screams of joy on Vent after a hard fight.
• Active and reliable.
• Playing your character to the best you can - optimal spec, glyphs, gems etc...
• We only expect good play so in that regard experience is not a requirement. However, it will go a long way towards improving your application.


What to expect from raiding?

We're ever changing and building our raid team and we've got our sights firmly aimed at efficient, focused and progressive raiding. In return we expect you to turn up to a raid knowing what to do, when to do it and to do it well. That being said we're not above making mistakes ourselves but you'll rarely see the same thing twice. Fail, Learn, Evolve, Improve, Profit.

We have high expectation of our members and expect them to all play to a good standard. We have many members who have achieved multiple top 20 scores on WMO (be that DPS, EHPS or TPS) and other members who have raided in world top 20 guilds. Whilst we don't expect this from all members we certainly do expect a high standard as it keeps up a healthy competitive spirit among members. Good play breeds good play.

Looting System
We use loot council for the distribution of loot in all current tier instances. This allows the guild to gear up in the most efficient way, rewarding those who put in the effort, maximising the use of the loot that drops and preventing silly internal games arising from flawed DKP systems that inevitably cause more problems than they solve.

Distribution is always at the discretion of the council and they will give out loot impartially, based on many factors such as attendance, reliability, raid performance and best use of BiS items. This is done as transparently as possible and concerns about how items have been/are being handed out will always be looked at immediately and changes made if required.


Recruitment

All recruitment is private and only seen by officers and well be kept on a need-to-know basis, we feel this gives players more freedom to explore other options without in-game repercussions. Please take the time to write out an application - this is our way to get to know you and a boring/badly written app will be of zero use to us.

If you know of other players of a good quality, don't hesitate to encourage them to apply - as we formed this guild from a group of friends, we know how much more enjoyable a raid can be when you're doing it with people who you know and enjoy being online with.
