OMWF is a guild that can trace its roots back to the middle of the Burning Crusade on the Twisting Nether realm. Our main core of members split from a much larger guild because we felt it didn’t meet our two main goals: to be a friendly and welcoming social hub in WoW, and to make strong progress in raiding content.
During TBC, OMWF grew and made quick progress in tiers 5 and 6 content. With the release of Wrath of the Lich King imminent, we headed for greener PvE pastures and transferred to the Emerald Dream. There we smashed the first tier of WotLK content, clearing it all months before the release of Ulduar.
During the lull before new content was released, the guild drifted apart. Many of the guild’s members set off to seek their fortunes on other servers and in other guilds.
Present
That original core of players, having satisfied their wanderlust and unhappy with the offerings of other guilds, have decided to band together once more to tackle the new challenges that the Cataclysm will bring to Azeroth. We have regrouped on Shattered Halls to take up the mantle of our legacy, and we’re busy preparing for the return of Deathwing.
Future
We’re aiming to put together a solid team to take on the new raiding content that the Cataclysm will bring. We’re planning a regular, 3 nights a week schedule to focus on 10-man content with the goal of clearing all that the Cataclysm can throw at us, including hard modes. We already have a group of dedicated players committed to seeing the fight through to the end, and we just need a few good players to fill the gaps in our line-up.
