“Thwack” Guild

Thwack is a 'serious/casual' adult 25-man raiding guild based on Frostmane EU. With the countdown to Cataclysm beginning, we are looking for some new recruits to join us for some focused raiding twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays (20.00-23.00 pm server time). We have been around as a guild since October 2009, but are taking the opportunity with the new expansion to adjust our timetable to lighten our time commitment as well significantly raising our progression goals. We are of the view that it is perfectly possible to make some competitive progress without sacrificing life for some pixelated gratification. We also believe that it is feasible to do so with a consistent and experienced raid team on a six-hour raiding commitment per week. All our officers have extensive PvE raiding experience dating back to the launch of WoW, as guild, class and raid leaders, as do many of our core raiding group.

As a member of Thwack, you can expect to meet an extremely welcoming and friendly group of players, who are always happy to group for alt or fun runs on off-raid nights, help out with crafting and questing, give advice on specs etc for alts or to discuss issues you may be having with your main. Aside from our raiding squad, we have a wide ranging group of social members who have either retired from the raiding scene or can't commit to our 25-man raid times, but who are always happy to run 10-mans on off-raid nights. Our age range is probably higher than most guilds with the average probably being late twenties. Our membership straddles most of Europe and our guild language is English.

As a Gunner (our raider rank) you can expect an almost consistent spot in our 25-man team (our squad will be capped at 30, meaning in return, you should, barring holidays or work commitments, be able to make both our raid nights by default). In addition, you will be entitled to free gemming and enchanting for your main spec gear upgrades as well as flasks and food for raiding.

Who are we looking for?

You should be at least twenty years old and have reasonable experience of your class, preferably including pre-Wrath content as a level 70 or level 60 as well as having covered the current expansion. We are not overly concerned with gear given the reset coming with the expansion, but you should be prepared to level to 85 reasonably quickly as we want to get the 25-man ball rolling without too much delay.

All classes will be considered on merit, especially as we have yet to finalise all our current raiding members' Cataclysm mains. That said, the following classes are of particular interest:

* Protection/Retribution Paladin
* Demonology/Affliction Warlock
* Unholy/Frost DK
* Enhancement Shaman
* Discipline/Holy Priest
* Assassination/Combat Rogue
