“Fun Light” Guild

Horde EU-Twisting Nether    (armory)

Guild Profile

Primary Language: English
Raids per week: 3
Recruiting (outdated): closed
About Fun Light:

Fun Light is an international guild for exceptional players who due to various real life commitments want to raid with a casual schedule.

We are a bunch of people who due to school, work or other personal commitments are unwilling to raid more than 2-3 nights a week but still want to raid in a competitive and rapidly progressing environment.

The guild has been in place on Twisting Nether since early Cataclysm but was initially only a place for socials and friends who raided once a week very casually. The core of the guild decided in the late stages of Firelands that we wanted to raid competitively and since then we have come a long way. We were #1 English speaking guild with 1-2 nights a week in 10 man to kill Heroic Madness.

Between Cataclysm and Mists we lost a few core members and ever since we have not found the right chemistry between our team members, leading to many roster changes in the past months.

Apart from being heavily focused towards progression we are very keen to maintain a friendly, drama free and open-minded atmosphere.

Socials are always welcome and in general the guild is very talkative.

What sets us apart:

- Casual raid times: It is possible to progress like a hardcore guild but raid like a casual one. We can offer competitive progress without exceeding more than 3 nights a week.

- Atmosphere: We have a very laid back atmosphere. Most of us know each other on a first name basis and there is a lot of !@#$ talking and jokes going around in our raids. We are all here for the raiding but want to enjoy ourselves during the raid.

Recruitment status:

We are not recruiting.

Applicant expectations:

Thorough knowledge of your class: We expect you to be able to play all of your class's specs at a competitive level and be willing to play any spec we deem to be most beneficial to the raid. This is essential due to the very comp dependent nature that is 10-man raiding.

Attendance: We do not use backups. This means you will need to have close to 100% attendance. What usually happens when someone is unable to show for a raid is that the person will give a notice far in advance, and we'll reschedule for that reset, or skip a day.

Dedication: We are interested in people who sincerely enjoy raiding and commit to it. You show this by coming fully prepared to raids be it consumables, keeping yourself updated with your class's theorycrafting or knowing tactics and class specific tips for an encounter.

A sense of humour and a thick skin: We give criticism and call out mistake directly over mumble. Although we try to make sure this is always constructive and said in a nice manner it can sometimes come out as a bit sharp due to wiping frustration. We also joke a lot, often at our own or someone's else expense and in general the jokes can be a bit raw. If any of this bothers you, this is not the guild for you.

English skills need to be excellent. This is because we expect you to participate in discussions regarding tactics as well as the raid calling effort.

Personality: More than just good players, we're looking for good people, ones who we will enjoy playing with. Humour, maturity and being easy going are important qualities in this guild. We expect you to be social and talkative inside and outside of raids.

Decent gear: We're in the middle of heroic progression and cannot afford using poorly geared players. You need to have enough gear to step right into Heroic progression. Currently this translates to roughly 510.

General information

Raiding times (in server time): Friday 19:00-01:00, Sunday 19:00-23:00, Monday/Tuesday 19-23:00. As mentioned, as a result of not having backups we occasionally move raid days. We might raid on any day besides Saturday.

Voice communication: Mumble

Loot system: Loot council. Loot is treated as tool to maximize progress and this could mean you won't get any loot for weeks. If loot is important to you, don't apply.

Website: - all applications are to be made there.

More information: For quick contact, add me on real ID (Letterb#2740). Otherwise contact any guild member and they will redirect you to an officer. If not online ask anyone in the guild for us as we may be on alts or just chilling on Mumble. Thanks for showing interest.
