Ludicrous Speed is currently looking to boost our roster to ensure
we have the right people to cover whatever composition requirements
the remaining Ulduar hard modes may throw at us. We've been around
for almost four years now under the same core leadership. We're a
proven formula with a track record for success over the course of
the years. Of special note is the fact that we only raid three days
a week, yet progress through content at a rate similar to most five
or six day guilds. We are a guild of adults with lives outside of
the game and we like it that way. Since we only raid three days, we
take our time very seriously and expect everyone to play to the
best of their ability. At the core, we aim for our raids to have a
friendly atmosphere, creating an environment that fosters strong
morale, which we believe is the crucial foundation to a successful
raiding team. We aren't one of those guilds that expects you to get
yelled at and take it when you make a mistake. We understand
mistakes, and we understand that you will learn from them. If you
don't learn from them, you will not raid with us. It's as simple as
that. We aren't going to yell at people and belittle them for
making mistakes. We'll keep criticisms private, but we'll keep an
attentive eye on things to make sure errors are not repeated. Above
all we all understand that we are here to have fun, of which there
is no short supply in LS. We're the type of guild that has annual
Las Vegas trips, and plenty of out-of-game contact. We're in it as
friends, family, co-workers, etc.
We have a periodic performance review conducted by officers for every member that establishes ranking and raid invite order. This is based on objective statistics such as DPS, survival records, and attendance (I personally keep a very thorough permanent record on every raider). We also factor in subjective assessment for attitude and teamwork. In LS, if you want a raid spot, you're going to have to work for it. If you want the assurance that the 24 people at your side are also working for their spot, we're the guild for you.
Current Raiding Schedule (All times listed as EST)
Tuesday - 8:15 PM to 12:30 AM
Thursday - 8:15 PM to 12:30 AM
Sunday - 6:15 PM to 12:30 AM
The occasional Monday raid will sometimes be thrown in there, but these are optional and are typically used to finish off something we were close to completing the previous night.
As an LS member, you would be expected to:
Demonstrate a working knowledge of your class and spec. You should know how to optimize your role in raids through theorycrafting and empirical evidence (We post logs after every raid, you are expected to make use of them).
Show up to raids on time with the proper consumables for your class. We don't half-ass bosses just because current content is easier. We expect people to give raiding 100% of their effort, even on the farm stuff. We're a guild with many people that care about shooting for world records, the hardest achievements, and just playing our best for the sake of being the best we can. If you aren't willing to match that effort, you're not going to be a good fit.
Be able to communicate effectively. You should be ready to discuss relevant raiding topics in Ventrilo, in-game chat, and on our forums. We expect and utilize member feedback.
Treat your fellow guild members with respect.
Most importantly - Show up to raids with a good attitude. How you present yourself will rub off on others. While we understand there are frustrating times to be had in raiding, we expect our members to rise above and maintain a positive outlook. If you can't do this, we're probably not right for you.
We have a particular interest in ranged DPS players, but we're looking at applications in all roles, especially those that have the gear and skill to fill alternate roles when needed. Using your secondary spec for PvE is a huge plus.
