1. Goals and Expectations.

Our goals and desired atmosphere:

We seek to foster a calm, relaxed atmosphere within our raids and try not to forget that WoW is first and foremost a game meant to be enjoyed. There is, however, an emphasis on the efficient use of our time spent raiding. Our goal in raids is to have fun progressing as a team through end-game 25 (and 10) man content and we expect our raiders to put forth the efforts necessary to realize this goal. We are less concerned with being the best and more concerned with doing our best. Killer Tofu is not a hardcore progression guild. You will not find us agonizing over World or even Realm Firsts on the latest raid content. However, we are among the top echelon of Duskwood raid guilds and raiders are expected to invest time outside of raiding to familiarize themselves with fight mechanics, maximize performance, and be prepared for the tasks required of their raid roles in order to progress rapidly and efficiently through new raid content as it becomes available.

Our guild is very tightly-knit. Many of the players in Killer Tofu have beenm together for a very long time. We encourage our members to get to know one another on a personal level, as more than just a collection of pixels chasing purples. Many prefer to use first names rather than character names. Thick skin is virtually a requirement as there is much mature (immature) joking and good-natured ribbing. If you are easily offended or overly sensitive, Killer Tofu may not be the place for you.

Our expectations of members:

- Be able to have a good time raiding, but know when it’s time to get serious (i.e. clear vent and listen to directions)
- Be on time for raids.
- Be competent, skilled, intelligent, committed, willing to listen and accept critcism, and able to take a joke and return one in kind.
- Recruit friends and other players that meet our standards.
- Read the guild charter and abide by it.

2. Rules of the Guild.

i) Mains/Alts.
In Killer Tofu you are allowed one main character. Members are expected to develop their main characters as much as possible. In the event that a member wishes to change his or her main, the officers will decide on a case by case basis. Do not expect to change from a priest main to a rogue main if we have four active rogues already on the roster. However, many of our members do enjoy the variety provided by playing one or more alts during their off time and there is no limit to the number of alts you may have in the guild.

ii) Non-member interactions.
You are expected to treat non-members with the same (or even more) respect that you treat your fellow guild mates. Obnoxious chatter in trade chat or on public forums is not conducive the image we desire to cultivate and will not be tolerated. The first observed instances of such behavior will result in a stern warning and further incidents of this behavior will result in removal from the guild. This does not mean, however, that you are forbidden to talk and post in public arenas. Just bear in mind that each member of a guild represents the guild as a whole and each member should remain respectful when engaging in public conversation. This means no starting or contributing to flame wars and no public mockery of other players. These things are fine within guild chat or on our forums but keep them out of the public eye.

iii) Attendance.
You are expected to retain at least a 60% raid attendance and failure to to meet this requirement will result in loss of raider rank. We do, however, understand that things come up in real life and that you may be unable to log on for some period of time. All that we ask is that you post in our member forums that you will be unable to log on and tell us how long you expect to be gone. A reason is not needed but is certainly appreciated. We require that you make a post if you will be gone for any period longer than two weeks. If you are gone for two or more weeks without informing us, we will have to assume that you are just not interested in logging on and therefore no longer interested in being a part of our team. If you are online and we are raiding, you are expected to be there (or available to swap in with 5 minutes notice). Exceptions are made on a case by case basis and should be communicated with the officers in advance.

iv) Guild Bank.
Members are expected to exercise common sense and be courteous when utilizing the guild bank. Members may withdraw cut gems for personal use so long as they replace the gems with uncut gems of the same color immediately. Raiding consumables (flasks) are generally provided by the guild but all are encouraged to show up to raids with their own reserve as a precaution. You may speak with an officer at any time prior to a raid in order to procure flasks. This honor system combined with the generosity among guild members has worked well for us for some time. Anyone found to be abusing the system will find their privileges revoked.

3) Raid Schedule.

Currently: Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 8:00 pm EST to 12:00 am EST.

4) Application.

Your application is our first impression of you so give it thought and consideration when filling it out. The more complete, detailed, and comprehensive your application, the better our first impressions will be.

5) Trial Process.

Killer Tofu's prospective member process lasts approximately 2-3 weeks or 5-7 raids, during which you will be evaluated on how well you mesh socially with the guild as well as on your playing skill. Prospective members DO accumulate DKP during this time. However, they may only spend 10 points per raid (see the KTP thread for more info). Expect to be challenged during your trial period. We will place you into situations where you will have to show the quality of person and player you are. If you do not receive a majority of the vote, you are certainly welcome to improve your game and reapply. If you are inducted into the ranks of Killer Tofu, it is expected that you follow all of the guidelines detailed above.
