Who is Avid?
We are a 10 year old tight knit community of gamers stemming from various raid oriented MMOs. Our core members have been apart of high-end raiding progression in EQ, EQ2, Vanguard, WoW, Rift, Wildstar, and more. We hail from many guilds such as Malice, Dissolution, Team Ice, Nightmare's Asylum, Curse, Premonition, Maximation, Enigma, and others within our ranks. Raiding is the catalyst that brought us together, but we also take pride in the community that we've formed over the years. You can find our members in game doing various activities, or on Discord playing a variety of games: Dota 2, LoL, HotS, Diablo, PoE, CS:GO, just to name a few.
Our WoW team is a resurgence brought by the lack of quality raid content in other games. Many of us saw WoW going down hill after WotLK with the split of 10/25m raids, but we were proven wrong as content has continued to flourish. We started leveling after heroic 10 man Garrosh had already been killed and ended up finishing as US 89th HC 10man.
After Mythics announcement, we worked on our roster for Warlords and finished US 27th in Highmaul. In BRF we peaked with a US 12th Iron Maidens at which point we took a break from raiding. The requirement of split raids made the game not fun for us, and we re-evaluated our priorities before returning in HFC. Ours goal being continue to raid with a hardcore atmosphere, but taking a more realistic goal of time investment.
So far in legion we’ve been successful in our goals, killing Xavius as US 54th and getting Helya down pre-7.1.5 as US 56th. Despite stumbling with heavy roster turnover due to the AP grind, we’ve continued to progress and work into Nighthold. The turnover + a few roster issues hurt is pretty bad for Nighthold, leading to a US 84th Gul'dan. However with solid additions to the raid team + a slew of people returning to raiding we were confident as we approached tomb.
With a much lower roster turnover we were able to perform strong in Tomb, finishing the tier in the top 50, at US 49. We are approaching Antorus with a stable raid team and will be building on our successes in tomb.
Well stability went out the window. A large number of significant IRL issues plagued our raiders this tier and left us with more turnover then we've ever seen for a tier. Between the turnover and a lot of holiday vacations, our progressed was significantly slowed. Some major growing pains on Argus led to a slow kill, but a prenerf kill nonetheless.
Heading into BFA recruiting across the board.
What do we plan to do?
To be among the first to clear content, constantly improve as a raid team, and to grow our community.
Who are we looking for?
We want people who share our goals. People with high-end hardcore experience, a healthy attitude, and extreme dedication. Former leadership is also a huge plus. Players should be able to learn mechanics quickly and consistently. Players should be ready to perform a variety of roles and jobs. We want people who want to be part of a community both inside and outside of WoW.
