“Recidivism” Guild

Recidivism is a ‘Friends’ guild started by a group of folks that know each other in real life. As you can probably tell by the name, we have all come back to the game after spending up to several years away. We range from former progression raid guild officers to people who have been purely casual in the past.

Since coming back to the game, we’ve been having a blast! I never expected that returning to the game when I did would result in our friends coming back to play with me, but having that happen has been great. We’re having more fun than we’ve ever had on an MMO right now, and having our buddies around is what has made that possible.

Playing with a tight knit group of people we actually like has really brought home that this is the way we want to play WoW. As we now try to grow the guild, the most important thing on our minds is to keep that sort of atmosphere intact. No risk of drama, everyone with the same basic expectations about what we’re going to get out of our guild, and an atmosphere that never gets tainted with typical anonymous internet douchebaggery.

After being surprised that we had enough people to make a guild, we decided that we’d like to get back to raiding! We’ve all really enjoyed our raiding experiences back in the day, and we want to make a push to fully experience all PVE aspects of the game as we move into the next expansion.

We all prefer 10 mans instead of 25 mans, and are very excited about the upcoming changes in Cataclysm that are intended to make this a challenging and rewarding style of play. We know that in our old age and with our busy RL schedules, we won’t be able to raid more than a few times a week, but we’re very committed to being serious about it when we do. We are looking forward to making the whole guild into a group of excellent players that will be able to stay current with raiding content, get end bosses down, and rack up guild achievements.

If you’re here because you’re considering joining us, welcome! This style of guild is obviously not for everyone, but if you do fit in we’re all going to be very happy to be able to add to our list of friends, RL or otherwise.

While trying to figure out the best way to tell everyone reading this page what exactly we’re like so that you can decide if we’re up your alley, I couldn’t think of a better way than simply making available the posts that we made while founding the guild and when we decided to grow it.
