About Us

Deceptively Progressive was created June 2016. Even though the guild is very young the guilds core is veteran players with a lot of raiding experience under their belt dating as far as vanilla for some.

Our Goal

The guild was created for a single purpose a bunch of friends wanting to have a positive environment while clear content at a healthy pace, no drama no immature behavior just a bunch of like minded people trying to achieve the same goal and have fun while downing Mythic bosses. We would like to always clear mythic content before the next tier comes out but there is no point in raiding 7 days a week when you can do it at a healthy pace with 3 days a week. Most of us have real life commitments and cant commit 24/7 so we choose this approach.

Guild Rules

Behaviour
As a member of Deceptively Progressive you represent the guild both in and outside raids. Toxic behaviour influences the guild and thus acting in a bad manner is prohibited. We do not care for either drama, loot-whoring, insults or any kind of verbal abuse. Not that we do not like to have fun and use harsh humour between each other. But internal humour and acting like an idiot "in public" are two very distinct things.

Our Expectations
Be Prepared. As a part of our raiding team you are expected to research fight mechanics to prepare for a new encounter, tier or expansion. This does not only include boss mechanics, but also extensive knowledge of your own class/spec, having the best flasks, food, potions and enchants available.
We also expect a high amount of attendance as we want to bench as few people as possible and keep our roster to a minimum.

Trial Period
Players accepted for trial will generally have less priority on loot during their trial. The trial period has no set time table. This all depends on the player and what we see. On the other hand you will most likely be brought for a lot of fights because we want to see you in action.

Signing For Raids
Everyone regardless of rank are required to sign for raids, whether that be accepted, declined or tentative. When declining or signing tentative you're obligated to leave a post in the AFK section on the forum. Telling a friend or an officer (e.g. in whisper) is not sufficient.

Sitting Out / Being Benched
Taking different classes for specific bosses is a part of progression and everyone wont have 100% attendance forever either. Some players don't want to be sat out. Which is understandable as you are here to raid.
We do our very best to get people in for a chance to get BiS items, but people are bound to be sat out at some point and if you can't accept this, this is certainly not the guild for you.

While benched players are required to be in reach, in case we need you for a specific boss, someone disconnects or whatever issue you might encounter.

Note: First pull happens at 20:00, so invites will be given out prior to raid start (19:45).


Loot System
Loot Council
We use RCLootCouncil for loot distribution. Players will have the option between Best in Slot > Major Upgrade > Minor Upgrade > Off Spec > WF/Socket Roll with the priority Raiders > Trials.

The distribution is based on what benefit the guild the most. This variates from tier to tier. In Dragon Soul the tank set bonuses were essential, other tiers had huge DPS requirements thus getting DPS set bonuses took priority. Next we base the distribution on performance, attendance and to some extent classes as some bonuses are usually stronger than others.
