Experimental 10/25 rankings

The separated 10- and 25-man rankings have been reopened.

They are still experimental.

1. They are based on timestamps of achievement criteria in normal mode and timestamps of achievements in heroic mode.

2. 25-man kills most likely will be considered as 10-man for some time because not all characters being updated in the armory. Requeue guild updating in several hours.

3. If your first kill was 25-man, then you won't able to record next 10-man kill for 10-man rating (as there will be no new achievements in the armory).

4. If 25-man raid consists of players that have killed the boss in 10-man, then 25-man kill won't be recorded as there will be no new achievements in the armory.
(Though it's possible to record a kill if there will be like 15 players without 10-man achievements)

Besides that, if you see a bug, please report it in the comments.

    Edit: But there are some minor bugs in this system: For example Ensidia did not kill their hardmode boss in 25 but in 10man - but they are ranked in the 25-man ranking and not the 10-man ranking.

    Yeah, this is a better way for sure. The "minor bug" with certain guilds doing hard modes on 10 man yet receiving credit on 25 has been reported.

    This whole thing must be an absolute nightmare with respect to the people (person?) who run this site, but hopefully they know how much we appreciate it.

    I would suggest as well at the recruit part to be able to filter by guild size.

    Its a shame that a guild can kill in 10 man and never get the kill in 25 after but i guess now we know and 25 guilds will adjust and wont do any 10 man progression

    This is a pretty decent solution for now. Everyone will know who is lieing about killing 25 when they actually did it 10man, at least on their own server. So thumbs up!! Ye and the merged rank list is useless.

    Does it matter those days anyway? Blizzard have done -NOTHING- to make 25 better than 10m. YOu have 3 epics more, a -LITTLE- more Valor Points and thats all. No more bonuses, thats SAD. :/

    Seems like this don`t work. Our guild kills 5/12 in 10-man first week, and next week we kill some of these bosses in 25-man, but omnotron don`t count as 25-man kill. I think there`s no way to count it right.

    I agree, the fact that kills in one category make counting kills in another category pretty much render the distinction between 10/25 pretty useless.

    10 man guilds compete on the 10 man ladder, 25 man guilds on the 25 man ladder: The way to go. 25 man guilds cheesing back to kill a boss on 10 man should get a penalty for that or should just not be counted as a kill for them until they kill it on 25 man. (I understand that nef was bugged and the reasoning for the top guilds however)

    Why is this displaying so much wrong information? Ty for trying but waiting days for a correct update is gonna be annoying as heck (that's if it updates correctly at all). Sometimes I wish blizzard just never made the two modes equal

    A very nice solution until Blizzard inevitably realizes they made a mistake and makes separate achievements again for future tiers.

    A few (minor) issues:

    PROBLEM: Our guild got credit for a 'new' 10m kill this week on a 25m kill because we had a bunch of people in there who weren't there on our first 25m kill the week before. This is all fine, as most guilds who kill bosses on 25 won't really care about the 10m rankings, but it will look weird to see guilds ranked #1 on 25m and then #83 on 10m realm rankings just because they only get 'bugged' credit 10m kills.
    SUGGESTION: Possible solution would be to make 25m kill just imply 10m kills. Old strict 10m guilds will probably not agree with this, but since 25m guilds no longer have a gear advantage, there is no reason for them to protest.

    PROBLEM: Guilds regularly killing bosses on 10m up to the point where everyone has the achievement will never get credit for a 25m kill.
    SUGGESTION: First thing is probably implemented already, but make the threshold for 25m kills as low as possible (>=11 guild members with a new achievement). After that the only option is to look at loot on the armory guild news page and see if number of items looted equals 5. But this will probably be very annoying until they provide armory rss feeds again.

    PROBLEM: Guild image/banners only show T11 overall rankings.
    SUGGESTION: Just add a new tag in the url to choose the bracket you want. Something like .../guild_img/123456/out/type.site/t11.25/

    Instead of parsing for an achievement on 15 ppl at the same time you should check for the number of items looted at the same time. Is the only way to be 100% correct.

    At the moment my guild will never be able to get the credit for killing 2 bosses on 25 because on the first reset we ran a couple of 10 man raid and killed those 2 bosses in each raid. This week when we moved to 25 only 5 ppl got credit for killing the boss so we didn't and we won't get credit for 25 kill any time soon.

    When you come to the first page of wowprogress.com it should show the 25man progress and not the 10man+25man.

    I dont get the concept with the 10+25 man merger option. should just remove it. And yes 25 man on front page or even 10 for that matter, not the merger option.

    If anything a 25 man doing 10 mans for ratings should be called invalid. They get the options to choose the easiest path of the fights if there is one, and also the ability to massively raid stack.

    25 man guilds raiding 10 mans should not get credit or recognition at all, not even as a 10 man kill. I know this is impossible to track, but the community should turn they're backs to those guilds...

    One final thing I would have to agree with is please have your page load at Tier 11 (25 man) by default, the same way you did for tier 10.

    It's most fair to have just combined tier 11 progress by default as long as there ain't any bugs. At least I found many guilds that don't show correctly (include mine). Nice try Kernel tho but still some work needed for reliable results.

    Love the separation again, very grateful for it.

    However, I see a bug for the guild I'm in, Just Crusade, where it's recording our 25man Conclave of Wind kill as a 10man kill, perhaps due to the ingame bug where if people were dead at the end of the fight, they didn't get credit in their achievements for killing the boss.

    Not sure how you can get around this bug, other then investigating each instance reported, like looking at a WoL link (http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/pgoxqqe97mndbzkv/) to prove it was done in 25, though.

    I like that you're trying to add it back. I'd suggest perhaps you could say that if 11+ guild members acquire a 25 man kill simultaneously and 25+ have it at all, that's sufficient to call it a 25-man kill. Just my $.02.

    It doesn't count as a guild kill in 25-man unless you have something like 17 members of the guild in the group.

    Having 11-16 members showing the kill doesn't actually confirm that it was a true guild kill.

    If people kill a boss with multiple 10 mans (or over the coarse of a couple weeks) with different players (adding up to 25 different players getting the 10 man kill), will it be counted as a 25 man kill in this system?

    I was wondering the same thing. We actually had a 25 and a 10 man going simultaneously the other night, yet this system was able to record the 10 man and 25 kills separately. I'm not exactly sure how that worked.

    On that note, our (Blood Legion, US-Illidan) kill of Ascendant Council is incorrectly listed as 10 man instead of 25.

    How about people start reading the first post before reporting these "bugs".
    The only thing that doesn't seem to be working is Ascendant Council kills, many guilds that killed it on 25m are only getting 10m credit.

    If the Ascendant Council issue can be fixed, this looks good. Definitely not counting the 25 man kill for a lot of guilds who got in the first week.

    It's messy at the momment and considering its made on the timestamps, if you did kill some boses on 10 man a week before with lets say 20 people (2 diffrent groups) and you killed this boss the next week on 25 having 19-20 people that allready killed him, only 5-6 people will get the timestamp for the achivement step, this making the 25 man kill imposible to be tracked.
    If you killed a boss on 10 man with only 1 group, having let's say 11+ people getting the kill the next week, it's logical i guess that the kill will be counted on 25 man, but if you have already lets say 15 people that killed the boss prior to the 25 man kill this results in 10 man getting the kill => 10 men kill, and not 25.
    To be honest I would love to separate 10 and 25 but I don't see how is it posible, or if you want to be ranked, you will be forced to raid only 25 man, or atleast get the first kills on 25.

    The problem with this separation system is like since the armory failing each day it might not be a good solution. For Example, guildox have simillar system checking date of kill and how many ppl in guild have achieve it. Well. I can tell you that for example there are bosses that have been killing with 25 guild mates and only half of them were counted on guildox. I hope if you're making the same system here it will be better. Otherwise, it's just useless.

    We killed 10man Ascendant Council last week and did it again 25 this week, with a Cho'gall on 25 kill shortly thereafter. WOWP is recording a Cho'Gall kill but NOT a Council kill for 25man.

    While I appreciate the efforts you are making with the system for 10 vs 25 - I have 2 comments:

    1. Current system of basing it on armory is not working - kill a boss in a guild multiple times on 10 man its registering as a 25 man kill.

    2. Blizzard is attempting to give balance to 10/25 man guilds, why, as the most influential rankings site trying to fight against these wishes? If Blizzard does not want the distinction to be there why are you trying to force it?

    1. Because raiders need to know how their guild compares against others in its focus area.
    2. Because the target audience for 10 & 25 mans is different.
    3. Because having such a distinction is necessary for recruitment.

    When are people gonna accept that cata 10 mans aren't like wotlk 10 mans. 25 should not be default, there will probably be more 10 man guilds. They are equal. I love the seperation, and I think it will be great if you can get it to work, but why is 10 man always considered the 'noob' rank... has anyone even tried both.

    I wouldn't say 10s are a "noob" rank. Everyone - 25 manners included - respected 10 man S3D kills when that was progression content. It was admittedly a harder fight. But Blizzard wanting to balance 25s and 10s is not the same as actually doing it. It may actually turn out that 10s are harder. But there are two really big issues that stick out in my head as to why 25 man progression is different:

    (1) There are certain mechanics that, due to space, are much harder in 25 man. Everyone is probably familiar with bloodbolts in BQL 10 vs 25 during ICC, but there are a bunch of similar mechanics in T11. Ascendant Council, Omnitron Defense System, Chimaeron, Al'Akir all have spread mechanics that are required. Similarly, some encounters have raid splitting that make 25s mechanically easier. You can adjust your raid distribution much easier on Conclave if you are in 25s.

    (2) 25s can easily form a 10 to down content if 10s are easier. The inverse is not true.

    That said, I genuinely hope Blizzard succeeds in balancing the difficulty, because I thought getting 25 man gear in pugs/gdkps/some guild raids, and then taking 25-man normal (or even heroic, in the case of easy heroic bosses like lootship) and using it to beat all the 10-man HMs by outgearing them, really cheapened that content, and took the spotlight off guilds that were earning them honestly. (We had one of the top 10-man strict guilds in the US on Turalyon, and I sympathized with them, as they were crowded out by 25-man guilds getting Bane titles, when I felt theirs was equivalent, or at least much closer, to a light of dawn titles.)

    the split rating is not working for our guild, we are at 8/12 in 25 normal mode content atm, so it doesn't realy matter ^^

    Wouldn't it be possible to seperate the ranking based on the guild news information? All loot and all kills should be tracked in this list I think. In 25man there will be more loot in the list after each bosskill. If there are 2 10man groups killing the same boss at the exact same time, there will be 2 boss kill entries, etc...
    Just an idea, don't know if this might be feasible...

    Our Ascendent Council 25 and Nefarian 25 kill also got tracked under 10man, although we are only raiding 25man content und therefore killed every boss with a 25man raid.

    This wont work on hardmodes because once you did a hardmodeboss on 25 you are locked to 25 man!

    Hey and thanks for separating 10 and 25-mans once again, eventho that it's just experimental.

    unfortenately our Ascendant Council kill didn't got listed as either 10-man or 25-man, it's not listed in either but in the Tier11 tab which as i understand, includes rankings for both sizes.

    Would appreciate if this could be corrected to show in our 25-man kills for a more accurate ranking, thank you.

    From what I've seen, if any guild registered themselves as 25m group then ran 2x10m runs and killed the boss in both, they are granted with 25m kill. Any chance to check equal times (hh:mm) when the kill was done and count as 10m if values aren't exactly the same for at least 20ppl?

    Having done both 10m and 25m, it's clear to see the difficulty differences between them. It's true I haven't done any hardmodes, but I've done more than half the bosses in 10m and 25m so I have a rough idea of what's happening.

    Nearly all 25m fights are harder. I'll give Blizzard credit on trying to balance them, and indeed the 10m fights are well tuned, but 25m is still harder and will always be harder, and for that we gain 40 more valor points per boss kill, woohoo. The only exception so far is Maloriak, the berserk timer in 10m is 6 minutes, and in 25m it's 8 minutes. Why I don't know, it's still not an issue, in 10m it's just something you have to beat but if your DPS is competent it's no problem, in 25m that just means the berserk timer is something you can ignore. Beyond that example, all 25m fights so far are more difficult than their 10m counterparts. Chimaeron and Ascendant Council are blatant examples of this. Can't comment on the end bosses but I heard Cho'gall 10m is easier than Cho'gall 25m. You can also clearly see in the rankings how there are more 10m guilds progressed than 25m guilds. I'm sure the fact that there are more 10m than 25m guilds plays some role into that, but I think it goes beyond it.

    The merged ranking simply doesn't work because 10m and 25m are NOT equal, I suggest scrapping it and having only 10m and 25m rankings once you have perfected the experiment Kernel, and have the default set on 25m. And yes please do create a 25m Banner.

    We are very interested how problems like this will be tracked:

    We splitted 25-man raid into two 10-mans, killed Omnotron, after weekly reset we killed him in 25 man, so according to your post, we have about 15 ppl with 10 man achiev and 10 ppl with 25 man achiev only. Is it possible to record 25-man kill, assuming that our guild killed all other bosses with 25 members present?

    Also due to slow armory updatesm we had Conclave kill recorded in 10 man, this is wrong and needs to be corrected. You have posted that this may happen for some time, but is it possible that kill record won't be transmitted to 25-man tab?

    Why are you keeping the ranking tier11?

    Basicly no guilds are able to compete in both 10 and 25 man at the same time anyways. The ranking is as pointless for 10 man guilds, as it is for 25 man guilds.

    Would it be possible to also use loot received as a guideline? If 5 pieces of loot come off the loot table of 1 boss at the same time, that would indicate it was 25 man since only 2 pieces come off 10 man. They are time stamped and loot is recorded on the guild armory page. That might help separate it.

    There anyway to manually indicate it was a 25 man kill instead of a 10 man kill it wowprogress credits it wrong?

    something is going wrong with this system already, ensidia have 3 10man kills ranked as 25man world firsts by some reason, probably they killed them this week on 25man and since more than 20members have now the achievement its ranking it as 25man, using the 10man kill date? Its too bad for other guilds like Paragon and Method that have been showing us the only 25man race losing their kill ranks due to this bug to someone that achieved those kill dates in 10man. A manual fix at least would be nice i guess.

Do you know that only real difference from easymode is tank damage in phase without Finkle's Mixture and with hunters there is no tank damage at all; no needs in healing 2 tanks to full hp every 5sec; no needs in 2nd tank at all... with hunters it's easymode with shadowaura in 3d phase... and

    and caustic slime is 322к/25=12,88 in 25ppl and 280k/10=28k in 10ppl... Good news!!! 6-7 healers in 25 need to heal 12,9k hits and 3 healers in 10ppl need to heal 28k hits + 2 tanks... Yeah it's equal difficulty for sure...

    Users should not that the detection is clearly not perfect, so tier11 combines is probably the safest solution to track the top guilds. You only need to know that Ensidia was the only top guild that killed bosses in 10 man.

    Hi, we killed Conclave of Wind in 10-man raid on Dec 14th, then, on Dec 23th we did it again in 25-man, it's already 3 days elapsed since that, but WoWProgress still showing that we killed it only in 10-man, is it possible to manually add 25-man version to our progress ?     We understand that there might be some bugs on our armory. But as I stated above, we killed every boss in 25man and hope we can be categorized correctly.

    Refined - Area 52 is the only guild on Area 52 server who has killed Al'Akir on 25 man. Yet other guilds were given credit. We've had all the server first kills on 25 man yet a few were reported incorrectly to 10 mans. Could this be fixed? Or at the very least fix our Al'Akir kill to realm first and remove it from any other guild because we are the only guild to achieve this on 25 on this server.

    why are non-hardmode points ignored as soon a hardmode boss is killed? many guilds have killed halfus before even bother to kill other endbosses and have a way higher ranking.

    and i think this would also improve the ranking:
    hide assigned 10-man guilds in the 25-man ranking
    hide assigned 25-man in the 10-man ranking
    show unassigned guilds in the combinded-ranking only
    show 10/25-man guilds in all rankings

    Dark Requiem on EU-Sanguino killed Conclave of Wind on 25hard yesterday however wowprogress recorded it as a 10man hard kill. Some members reported not receiving the achievement after the kill for some reason so I am guessing this is the source of confusion of wowprogress, however it should be more than 10 that did receive the achievement, and there are public logs/video to prove it is a 25man kill, could you please update as needed. Also, same guild has killed Al'Akir in 25man normal several times (as well as 10 man) but never got credit in wowprogress for the 25man version.

    Loot would be a viable method if the timestamp is reasonably accurate since in 25man it's very unlikely that 3+ pieces of loot will be sharded regularly. If at least 3 out of the 5 pieces are recorded as dropping then that's a guaranteed 25man kill since only 2 pieces drop in 10man. This could be done in conjunction with character achievements, or even kill times in character histories to make it more accurate - if any of the criteria for a 25man kill are met then it's 25man, otherwise it's 10man.

    Heck of a lot of parsing, but a technically very reliable solution.

    My guild has killed Alakir 25 in Normal Mode on the 23 December. We've also killed him a week before in 10 man and only that has been tracked. We've killed Alakir now several times in 25, but it still hasn't count yet. So can you fix it please?

    If the 10 and 25-player versions can't be separated properly, (I know it's not your fault, WP) I would say it's better not to separate them at all.

    My guild is 4/12 on 25-man and we're shown as 1/12 because too many of us have done it on 10-man first.

    If you want these to be of any use at all you need to stop giving 25 mans credit for 10 man kills when they're obviously 25 man kills. Bosses like conclave and halfus HEROIC are MUCH harder on 10 man. This site is useless if you can't accurately depict the two.

    Hope blizz shakes their heads a bit and seperates the ach btw kinda annoying to see so many problems occuring haha.

    Also if you look on Draenor realm you will see a guild called Lazy Elite. A GM renamed us by mistake and you can delete it all together since we got our old guild name back now.

    If Blizzard refuse to show separate 10 and 25man kills on the armory, I'd personally like to see a 25 man kill being recorded as 25man once 25 (possibly fewer, but more than 21 to avoid 2x 10 man kills being counted as a 25 man) players in the guild have killed a boss. This would ofcourse replace one major problem with one minor, which is big guilds killing the boss with several teams in 10 man being listed as 25 man. However, these types of guilds are certainly not as common as the regular 25 or 10 man guilds and would in my opinion be a smaller problem than the update issue today.

    My guild has killed Magmaw & Omnotron Defense System (among others) on 25 man yet we're not being credited for it since too many of us killed it on 10 man during our christmas break which is a little bit sad. It looks a tad bit weird when we've killed the remaining bosses in Blackwing Descent save for Nefarian while still lacking the first two on the progress chart.

    Like Memphys we have a issue with Ascendant Council.
    We had 15 new players on a kill, however, it won't update.
    It did for the other bosses we did that night, Cho'gall, Al'akir, but just not Ascendant Council :<

    Draconic Savant (Bloodscalp US) is currently 9/12 on 25N (everything but end-bosses), but we're not listed at all for 25s. This is likely because we spent December messing around in 10man groups, so most of the people in the 25 kills were already present in 10s.

    Not really sure what else you could do to detect this, short of checking for amount of loot like someone had mentioned. Even that is buggy though on the official armory.

    25er and 10er progress isn't working correctly. Missing kills at 10er and 25er again.
    We killed wyrmbreaker at 10er but he missed in progress an last monday we killed Thalion & Co at 25er and the kill missed at 25er after many guild updates

    There must be another option to get the Firstkills in 10-man and 25-man raids. We got 2 ID`s firstkills with 10 Player and now we don`t get the firstkills in 25- man raids, because less than 15 Player gets the new Firstkill.
    It sucks, because WoWProgress don´t show the reality and so this site becomes less importance.

    Something isnt working for our 25 man progression. We are 11/12 on 10 man currently. That is Correct!! ++ for that.

    But 25 man, wrong.. Whole bastion of twilight seems bugged for us here on wowprogress. We killed Cho´Gall Last night on 25 man ( this kill is the first an only recorded ) here on wowprogress for 25 man in Bastion of twilight. However we have done all in bastion of twilight on 25 man.

    Can check our guild on armory, we have WOL parse that proves it aswell, including videos and screenshots.

    We are very happy to use wowprogress, however this progression would be nice if it was fixed. I know it works for some guilds ( paragon etc?? ) but just not ours :(

    a good way to make the diference is by the gear ppl recieve if there are 5 items 25 man if its 2 its 10, this method theyr using of the achievs is full of flaws because i did a boss in 25 where everybody had alrdy killed it in 10 man and no progross added up on the 25 man tab :/

    I understand you posted why certain encounters will/will not be rated a 25/10 man kills, but its creating inaccuracies that affect recruitment.

    I would appreciate either a manual override or to stop splitting the progress.

    We have been flamed on Wow Forums for not killing on 25 man when in fact we are now 12/12 on 25 man.

    Please fix wow progress cause it is way too broken to even be worthwhile anymore!!!

    we have some bosses that is not updating in our 25 man kills our 10 man and 25 man kills should be the exact same except for Al'Akir has not been killed in 25 man yet.

    The 25men progression of our guild was erased. we're 11/12 on 10men, and 5/12 on 25, but is shows 0/12.

    Is there any possible chance you can add progression manually to guild please ? This is looking really annoying for recruitment.

    We are 11/12 Cleared on 10 man ( it shows that )

    But it doenst show we are 11/12 on 25 man.

    It would be really nice, since this ofcourse hurts our first preview here on wowprogress. Many that looks for a guild will quickly look at progression, and it only shows 7/12 sadly.

    What i dont understand is, Al Akir we killed last night on 25 man, we had only killed him once on 10 man, but didn get the kill registered here on 25 man, even tho more then 15 players got achievement.

    Hello,

    I like the feature of seperate 25 and 10 man tracking.

    But I noticed a small error in our kill list.
    Yesterday we killed Maloriak with a 25 man guild group, but Maloriak got posted under our 10 man kill list?
    We never tried to do Maloriak on 10 man, so wonder why it got posted there.


    And don't know when the feature will be fully operational, but when it goes live and not experimental anymore will it be possible to track 25 man or 10 man progress on your website instead of only the merged version.

    Stellt es doch endlich mal ein, das man seinen Gildenprogress manuell korrigieren kann mit nem Link zu den entsprechenden Weblogs oder Killshot, what ever. Is echt zum kotzen, das hier nix passiert und der Progress massiv verfälscht wird. Jeder Depp schaut zuerst auf die Seite um sich bei Gilden zu bewerben und da manche Gilden auf neue Bewerbungen angewießen sind.
