Guild Profile

Primary Language: English
Raids per week: unknown
casual
Recruiting (outdated):
all classes
Requirements:

1.) You must be an active player and able to maintain +80% overall attendance in one or more of our four night raid calendar (currently Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.)

2.) You must be a dedicated player with the ability to take serious criticism and have a desire to learn. We do not recruit anyone as a back up: if we bring you into The Insane Asylum Raid Team, you must be willing to listen & learn.

3.) You must be tolerant of the fact that raiding is highly dependent on class balance and as such involves potential bench time. If you don't do well in handling sitting out a few fights, you probably don't want to apply.

4.) You must be able to pay for your account and your internet connection without issue. This means Mommy & Daddy should not be paying for your account time. Hence: if they can pay for it, they can take it away. We need you on the raiding team not sitting in the corner because Mommy & Daddy took away your WoW privileges.

5.) Your computer and internet connection must be stable. We understand Mother Nature can wreak havoc at times with the internet and situations do arise from time to time. But, playing WoW over a dialup connection will not work for our raiding criteria.

6.) You must have and be able to use Ventrilo. Download at: www.ventrilo.com If you refuse to use Ventrilo & have open communication with the Raid Team then do not bother applying.

7.) The Insane Asylum Raid Team is an Adult Raiding Team, if your parents can unplug your cable before a raid ends or ground you from playing to enforce a bedtime or homework time, you need not apply.

8.) We want people who are social and interested in participating in the guild culture as a whole. If you dislike browsing and/or interacting on the guild site and find yourself only logging on for the hours of raiding per week, we may not be a good home for you.

9.) You must be able to farm additional consumables not provided by the guild bank and USE them for all learning encounters. Along with earning your OWN money. Do not expect the guild to support your habit for raiding. For the most part the guild does supply buff materials for the raid but as for your own Pots / Food / Water / etc etc etc that is not the Raid Teams responsibility.

10.) If you repeatedly find yourself overwhelmed with emotion from in game issues (loot distribution, raid composition, raid targets, or something similar ) and need to repeatedly address these issues to officers to the point of being belligerent , then please look elsewhere. We encourage feedback about strategies, performance, and leadership and we always try to give each player the time and attention they deserve but we are not looking for raiders who simply complain continually about anything and everything while contributing nothing to resolve the problem. If you have issues with how a raid is progressing or get frustrated easily due to learning progression then you need not go any further. Like you we learn these instances just like any other raiding guild. PATIENCE is key!!!

11.) You should be a friendly player with a positive attitude. If you find that you cannot discuss raid strategies, raid composition, or player performances without whining at, condescending to, or berating your fellow raiders then please look elsewhere. We do not require all members to participate in raid planning but we do require all applicants, raiders, and officers to be able to cooperate as a team and treat each other with mutual respect. This means while in GUILD CHAT or where ever. You bear our name behind yours. Don’t give it a bad one or you may find yourself off the team without hesitation.

If you think you meet all the requirements above, without exception, we welcome you to fill out the application form below.

How the Trial Process Works:

An officer of The Insane Asylum will contact you if we decide to consider your application, usually by email or in-game if email is not possible. If we do not contact you regarding your application within a week it can be considered "on hold" and we may reach out to you if a need for your class arises in the future. Once having contacted you we will establish a time and date for a ventrilo interview where officers will discuss your application, ask you a series of questions, and answer any questions you may have. Once the interview has ended, we will inform you of whether or not we are extending you a trial or if we are delaying a decision if there is information we must follow up on. After your time as a trial has finished, we review all feedback gathered and will make a decision whether to promote to full member rank. You will not receive an answer ON THE SPOT after the interview process. You position will be discussed and we will contact you if you meet the requirements for what we are looking for.

Submitting the Application:

After you've completed the application please email it to [email protected] or [email protected] with your character's name, class, and specialization in the subject line (i.e. Angel, Combat/Rogue). If you want your application to remain completely confidential, please state it clearly in the subject line. (i.e. Angel, Combat/Rogue Confidential)

Application Template:

Your Age -

1. List the names, classes, guilds and armory links of all level 80 alts:

2. What is your main raiding spec and off raiding spec? ** Dual Spec’d?? ( hybrid class must post ) Why did you choose those specialization(s) and what strengths and weaknesses do you see in them?

3. What are your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to raiding? What reasons would we have for taking you into The Insane Asylum versus another player of your same class? (Answers like " I am always online for raids and bring my consumables " will not differentiate you from other raiders.)

4. What general mods and add-ons do you use for raiding and why?

5. What resources do you use, outside of WoW itself, to remain up-to-date on game-play and strategy?

6. What are your available playtimes? ( be as specific as you can, don't tell us you are "24/7" unless truly do not sleep. )

7. Previous guilds, reason(s) for leaving, and raiding experience preBC and BC?

8. Are you a keyboard turner, a clicker, or some hybrid of both?

EX. Keyboard Turner: Keyboard Turn Keys for movement ▲►▼◄

EX. Clicker: You click your abilities with your mouse for fights.

9. Wrath of the Lich King has introduced complexities in balancing 25m and 10m raiding. Which type of raiding are you be more interested in? Why?

10. What is at least one aspect of your life that might interfere with our raid schedule, and how often would it interfere?

11. Can you provide any recent WoTLK, (or similar) links that would demonstrate your performance potential?

12. Of the primary professions which ones have you picked and why did you decide on those two?

13. Do you PVP? What is your best personal arena rating?

14. Do you know anyone in The Insane Asylum with whom we could discuss your qualifications?

15. How stable and reliable is your connection? How is your FPS during graphical intense fights? It is imperative that your hardware is able to handle raiding and if you have issues we need to know about them upfront. Hence: 25m Raiding is very demanding on a machine and you must be able to handle those types of fights without consequence.

After you've completed the application please email it to [email protected] or [email protected] with your character's name, class, and specialization in the subject line (i.e. Angel Combat/Rogue). If you want your application to remain completely confidential, please state it clearly in the subject line. (i.e. Angel, Combat/Rogue Confidential)
