Raid Schedule

<Future> was founded on the idea that an enjoyable social atmosphere and a progression-oriented raid environment are not mutually exclusive concepts. We aim to clear all heroic/mythic content while it is relevant and have a lot of fun while doing it. But plenty of guilds say that, so why are we different? We believe that having a close-knit group can not only coexist with a progression mindset, but directly contributes to achieving success as a guild over the long term. Content comes and goes, raid mechanics get refreshed and recycled, classes get nerfed and buffed…but the people, they’re what keep us coming back for more. World of Warcraft can help forge friendships which transcend the game, and we’re looking to capitalize on that as a springboard to our success.

Having a tight raid group contributes to the guild’s overall success in a number of ways:

· First, it makes progression raiding more enjoyable and the team more effective while progressing. It may not be easy to maintain a positive attitude once you reach wipe #150 on a new boss no matter what the guild aims to do, but it’s almost impossible to sustain the right environment without a foundation of friendship throughout the raid. Furthermore, social compatibility help to create an incentive structure where you want to perform at a high level for those around you, rather than to avoid being yelled at as is common in more hardcore guilds.

· Second, a quality social atmosphere makes farm content significantly more palatable the 20th time through. People get bored, play sloppy, and ultimately end up quitting the game when they have to log in to an environment where everyone is mindlessly and silently hitting their buttons while watching the same boss timers they have for 5 months straight. But if everyone is close, it’s much easier to break the monotony with jokes and friendly jabs, performance competitions, and the like. This helps keep people together as we work towards the next progression boss (or tier).

· Lastly, having the right mix of personalities and people contributes to lower roster turnover. Every raid guild in history has people leave who then need to be replaced—but not all guilds endure the same turnover rate. Focusing on the social aspects of raiding won’t eliminate turnover, but it will minimize it; and minimal turnover is critical for raiding success on a limited schedule.

The progression goal is a simple one: clear all heroic/mythic content while it is relevant (see: before the next content patch or expansion is released). We are not shooting for world or server firsts, nor do we particularly care about finishing ten spots higher on WoWProgress rankings. While we absolutely are determined to progress as quickly as we can as a group, we will not sacrifice our core values in the process because doing so would undermine our foundation going forward.
