Guild History

<UT> has a long track record of success, with server firsts dating back to TBC and competitive US rankings beginning in Ulduar(US#33) and TOGC(US#16)

<UT> has survived several changes of leadership/officers and has always emerged for the better. After Firelands (US #33), UT finished T13 with our best finish to date (US #14).

Come MOP, <UT> went through a drastic re-organization that included the loss of our GM and 4 ranged officers and 2 exceptional ranged parsers in addition to a change in RL. Nevertheless, after a rough start in MSV (US 47), the core of <UT> got our shit together and finished with a US #19 Heroic Empress kill and a US#25 Sha of Fear.

To say the least, <UT> has weathered storms that would break most guilds. We aren't going anywhere, and we've emerged stronger from each challenge. Late in T14, we took a more aggressive position on recruitment and PTR testing. As a result, we have made a strong push in T15 to our best record to date (several top 10US kills) while only raiding 4 days per week.

This guild is focused, hungry and driven. We spend hours outside of raid researching in order to make our progression time more efficient. We want to attract top-end talent where the raiding schedule allows you to live a normal life (or hide that you play this game from all your RL friends) and also provides an opportunity to contribute. We want independent thinkers who are going to emerge as leaders and make us better. Show us that there is something special about you.


Our raid environment

Our raid environment is an interesting blend of acting like shameful idiots and serious focus in order to get shit taken care of. We believe that tailoring a fun raid environment is helpful to guild morale and is a significant asset to the product we can offer a potential raider. We want the raid to have fun, but we are not going to let it come in the way of progression. If you make a mistake, we will let you know. We don't rage, but a raider must be accountable for a mistake in order to know how to fix it.


What to expect as a trial

First off our goal is to be as successful as possible within a 4-day raiding schedule. Long ago we decided that seniority has 0 relevance when it comes to playing time, loot, etc. The best player will raid, and we spend hours every night evaluating our logs. In other words, if you show up and do your job we will notice it and you will raid.

Mistakes happen, we understand that. We judge a trial on their ability to show intuitive thinking-how do you react to new situations/how quickly do your learn? Do you damage the right targets? Can you pull elite numbers? (our logs are public, if you want to compare to our current roster). We will do everything in our power to HELP a trial pass, because we want to put them on as close to an even playing field as possible, compared to others who share their role on the current roster. Show us that you get the bigger picture of raid design and extreme min/maxing.

Loot System

Loot is distributed on the basis of whatever will best advance guild progression. At the start of a tier, this usually means funneling gear towards our superior dps'ers and fulfilling important 2 and 4set bonuses. Nevertheless, we are not stupid enough to let people fall behind in ilvl to the point we cannot use them.
