<OBSCURE REFERENCE> is a US Horde guild on the server Kel'Thuzad. We raid from 7 PM to 11 PM MST on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, We are 5/5 in Trial of the Grand Crusader. Before 3.2 we defeated 9/9 hard modes and Algalon in Ulduar. We are currently actively recruiting skilled and active members of all classes.

High Priority - These applicants may be considered for an immediate core raiding spot including both farm and progression raids. These roles are crucial to our progression, and as such players are expected to perform at the top of their game at all times. Tanks are expected to be vocal and able to communicate necessary info to the raid when necessary, to be passionate about their job, and be dependable at all costs. DPS are expected to be competitive with our already outstanding crew, and have a desire to remain competitive without the cost of raid awareness. Healers are expected to mesh well with our incredible healing machine.

Enhancement Shaman
Restoration Druid
Holy Priest

All players are expected to be geared and gemmed properly, and willing to change their spec/gear should a certain progression fight demand it. All players are expected to know nearly everything there is to know about their class, yet retain a sense of wanting to learn more. We want confident players, not cocky players.

<OBSCURE REFERENCE> was formed a month before the release of Wrath, originally intended to be a 10 man guild between a few close real life friends. Eventually, the guild grew to where it was able to successfully field a 25 man roster and cleared Naxxramas, The Obsidian Sanctum, and The Eye Of Eternity.

As with both expansion releases, the progression scenes on many servers shift around, as older guilds fall apart and newer guilds rise up. Obscure Reference took on players from two guilds that had recently fallen apart, <Serenity> and <Axiom>. Within days of acquiring those members, both 10 and 25 man 3 Drake Sarth were killed, and <OBSCURE REFERENCE> was catapulted into the top of the server competition.

When Ulduar came out, Obscure Reference was originally plagued by attendance issues for months that kept us from any serious progression; however, members from another guild <Vinco Vici Victum> in a similar situation eventually approached us, interested in putting together a merger of sorts. A deal was worked out, and we acquired around ten highly skilled and geared members, which finally allowed us to hold a solid raiding core. In the month and a half following, we quickly progressed through every hard mode in Ulduar, quickly catching up to the other top guilds on the server. We killed Algalon on our third week of attempts. In Trial of the Grand Crusader, several of our 10 man groups have reached a Tribute to Insanity, and in 25 man we have currently cleared all available content.

Today, <OBSCURE REFERENCE> maintains a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Many of our members enjoy playing this game, we have three seperate 10 mans that regularly clear ToGC with 50 attempts remaining. Some of our players are at the top of their class, and many of our DPS are able to maintain competitive DPS, competing for top 20 spots on WMO, all while not standing in void zones. Many of our members have cleared former endgame content, with a good number having cleared AQ40, and portions of Naxx in pre-BC, and a good number of players who have completed Sunwell pre-2.4.

Our items are distributed via Loot council, based on a number of factors. Skilled and loyal players with high attendance are rewarded for their time and effort.

What we are (and aren't) looking for in you:

We want players who are not only knowledgeable and skilled at their class, but enjoy playing the game for what it is - a game. We want players who enjoy the company and presence of others. We aren't looking for players to log on only for raids, not say a word to anyone, and log off shortly after.

We expect our players to know their class inside and outside - knowledge of multiple specs, while not required, is a major plus. We want players who consistently strive to improve themselves and their game play. We want recruits to be able to come in and challenge the core raiders for their own spot.
