“Cake or Death” Guild

Cake or Death is a former server first challenging guild that has taken a step away from cutting edge raiding while staying serious about progression in the Heroic raid scene. We have absolutely zero ambition to do mythic raid content unless it is at least two raids away from current (IE once we finish Nighthold Heroic we MAY consider EN Mythic). Current progression:

7/7 Heroic Emerald Nightmare (AotC)
3/3 Heroic Trial of Valor (AotC)
10/10 Heroic Nighthold (AotC)

We raid three times a week - two progression raids Monday and Wednesday nights, and an alt/farm raid on Friday nights. All raids run from 7 PM to 10 PM server, though we occasionally push past 10 if we are nearing a progression kill.

We have a very tight-knit, solid core of dedicated raiders; however the group is small and with Blizzard's excellent design philosophy making fights like Helya practically impossible for smaller raid sizes, we are currently recruiting all DPS classes. We are unfortunately full on tanks, backup tanks, healers, and backup healers; do not hesitate to ask if those are your main specs, but know that we are not actively seeking them out.

Currently we have 15 regulars on our raiding roster and we run personal loot because we like simplicity. UPDATE: As of 04-04-2017 we are running a very simple Master Loot system with a priority as follows:

Main Spec Upgrade > MS potential (warforge/Titanforge) upgrade > Off Spec Upgrade

If two or more people want a piece and are on the same priority level, they /roll. If any of them have already received a main spec upgrade that day, they are removed from the roll-off. The point is to maximize our loot (specifically tier pieces) and to be as fair as possible, not to gear anyone specifically.


If you are interested in recruitment and you meet the following criteria:

-Geared appropriately for heroic Nighthold (875+ ilvl is a good start)
-Capable of holding more than 400k DPS while dealing with heroic boss mechanics
-Alright with accepting criticism, both of the constructive and good-natured shit talking type
-Appreciate a good dad joke
