Briefing:
After being on Sargeras since WoW's launch on November of 2004, our guild, Obsidian Spur, has finally transferred servers. We left Sargeras and moved to Thrall in order to pursue a much more enjoyable playing environment. The Horde population on Sargeras has deteriorated to a point where it was no longer fun to play anymore on Horde side, especially on a PvP server where Alliance outnumbered us 9 or 10 to 1. It was time to move on.
We are now on Thrall, and welcome anyone who wants to follow us over to Thrall to join our old-school community. All of our current core guild members made the transition with us. Our server transfer has been a great success so far. However, we are looking for new people to join our guild, as always.
We're a guild of casual players who are genuine, laid back people. Many members have been in the guild since 2004 and 2005. Most members are in the 25-30 age range.
Raiding:
During Cataclysm we raided two nights per week on Sundays and Thursdays from 7:30-10:30 PM. * We only raided 6 hours per week, tops - we never spilled over into extra hours or extra nights * We went 12/12 for tier 1 Cataclysm content, 7/7 for tier 2 content, (17/19 killed pre-nerf), and 8/8 for tier 3 content, both normal and heroic mode.
In Mists of Pandaria, we plan on having a very similar schedule, raiding two nights per week for three hours each night. We are currently looking for deathknights, druids, priests, and shamans. We also will be hosting a guild-wide LFR each week, so if that's all you're interested in, that's totally fine with us. Come on over!
History:
We used to be a much larger, hardcore raiding guild in Vanilla, hitting our burnout in the original 40-man Naxxramas. We became smaller and casual during TBC when a large player exodus occured. This exodus ended 25-man raiding, and the guild entered into semi-hibernation. Wrath ressurected our guild and our raiding, both 10-man and 25-man. We cleared all Wrath content, and we also collaborated successfully with a few other smaller guilds, mainly Virakar and The Wrecking Crew.
We're an original 2004 Sargeras launch guild. We've survived some very difficult times - most guilds haven't. We're proud of our dedicated and loyal players who have made our community amazing over the years.
