WoM is a dedicated raiding guild on the Uldaman-US server. Our
objective is to see all the end game content and to enjoy the
company of those around us while doing so. Our membership is
comprised of professionals who often times juggle work, family,
friends and Warcraft. We do not feel however that these factors
should hinder us from seeing as much of the game as possible. All
that’s required is commitment to a goal and teamwork to achieve it.
We have both in spades here. And we are looking for other mature
dedicated, like-minded individuals to help fill our raider ranks
that are active players and are serious about raiding to help us
get there.
What can we offer you? A mature, drama-free environment that fosters player growth. A raiding core that is dedicated, knowledgeable, selfless and generally great to be around. Leadership that is experienced, organized, devoted to the cause and above all, accessible and listens to its members. A schedule that is light and flexible enough to accommodate the modern adult gamer while heavy enough to make progression and push content. Raids that are well researched, run and most important fun to be in (this is a game after all). Players who have a strong understanding of game and raid mechanics. A DKP and guild bank system that is well maintained and transparent, assuring fairness for all members.
What are we looking for? First, we recruit players, not armory links. Three things are needed to be an effective raider: attitude, skill, and gear. Of the three, the first is the most important, the last the least. With the right attitude you can obtain the other two. Skill can be taught, gear can be gained, but attitude; that is entirely an internal thing. Attitude is being open minded, dedicated, giving 100% effort every pull, and thinking guild-first and raid-first.
Raiding is not an individual endeavor. Not one person or even ten people drop a raid boss on their own. It is a collective effort. We succeed or fail as a guild. Therefore we are looking for team players with strong communication skills. Players must be mature, active, and dedicated. Players are expected to come to raids on time, stocked up on reagents and consumables, not take frequent AFKs, and be prepared by reading up and watching videos of the encounters we are attempting. Players must be able to take instruction and at times, constructive criticism. This is generally done in private and is not meant to demean, belittle or embarrass a player. No one is perfect. We do not expect you to be. But we do expect you to be able to analyze what you did wrong, own up to it, correct it and eventually improve upon it. We hold ourselves to the same standards. We want players who desire and constantly strive to improve themselves inside and outside of raids. We need players who are quick learners and don't often make the same mistake twice. We need players with strong situational awareness, reaction speed and the ability to multitask.
Players must have the patience and dedication to endure glass chewing. That is when we need members the most, not on farm nights where the bosses are a cakewalk. We are not looking for loot whores, emos, or generally selfish players. Many of our members are friends or family in real life and we tend to think of this guild as a family. Accordingly we are generally cautious on who we accept into our family. So what now? If you’ve read the above and feel that our guild might be the place where you would fit in, have a look around our site and fill out an application to begin the app process.
Raid Nights are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 8:30pm to 11:30pm server time (EST)
