About unLucky

unLucky is a 10 man casual raiding guild, mostly comprised of people who have raided since vanilla, but now just want to sit back and enjoy the game rather than getting too serious about it. We don't recruit, other than to invite friends of the guild in.

unLucky History

unLucky started off as a Counter Strike 1.5 clan back in 2002, before eventually expanding into Call of Duty 1 & 2 teams, the highlights being the CS team making it into season 4 of CSGN, and the CoD team ranking as EnemyDown season 1 champions and then runners up in season 2. In 2005 many members started playing World of Warcraft and formed a guild on Emerald Dream called Gnome Corp International. This pretty much spelled the end of unLucky as a competitive gaming clan, but the majority of its members stayed together playing World of Warcraft.

GCI eventually merged with some members of Tsurugi (some old counterstrike chums) and then Mercury & Solace, before joining Order of the Tainted Rat to begin raiding Molten Core. Then in mid 2006, OotTR folded and the majority of its members formed Resilience which completed BWL and began Naxxramas-40 before continuing raiding in The Burning Crusade, whilst consistently sitting as a top 5 Alliance guild on the server. In late 2007 Resilience folded, the majority of its members finding themselves new homes in Bridgeburners, Vision and Koh I Noor, or quitting wow altogether. At this point, unLucky was reformed as a gaming community for everyone that had gone in different directions to keep in touch, and continue to play other games such as Battlefield and Call of Duty.

As the next wow expansion came in late 2008, the people in Vision and KIN eventually moved to Lucrum Gaudium and Tothrezim respectively, and continued raiding in the Wrath of the Lich King.

With Catacylsm arriving there was a general consensus that people wanted to continue playing warcraft without all the usual hassles associated with large guilds, and decided to form a new 10 man raiding guild based around the unLucky community, with the aim to keeping things simple but fun, but capable of progression through all the new challenges of the Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria expansions.

Since WoD, the guild backed off from any progression raiding. We tend to have a lot of activity at the start of expansions, which often tails off a few months in, where many of the guild members can be found playing other games together until a new expansion arrives.
