Fortify is a mature, laid back raiding guild supporting three
different 10 man groups progressing separately, each raiding 2-3
nights a week for 8-9 hours total. Currently our furthest
progression is to 8/12 ToT normal. Our three teams are tightly
knit, with a focus on progressing together. At the end of
Cataclysm, we banded together and polished off Savior of Azeroth as
well as our Glory of the Dragon Soul Raider achievements, and then
went back for Heroic Ragnaros. Here's a picture of me 'learning' to
put out Dread Flame! http://i.imgur.com/kAGHq.jpg
Furthermore, because we're running multiple progression groups, we always have people online for enchantments, gems, as well as heroics, scenarios, and LFR. Guild chat is lively, and quickly pruned of bigotry, in order to make a comfortable environment for all.

Fortify is a late night semi-casual raiding guild. Being a casual raiding guild means that our goal in raiding is to see content, have fun, and enjoy the satisfaction that comes from achieving PvE goals with our friends. As a result, we're a lot more lenient about things that "hardcore" raiding guilds would not tolerate. We joke around a lot. Sometimes we're disorganized.
All that said, here's what being a casual raid guild does not mean. It does not mean we don't expect every raider to be the best they can be. It doesn't mean we don't expect people who are not performing to their best ability shouldn't be working constantly to improve. It does not mean that it's ok to not pay attention to the raid leader's instructions, or zone out during a fight, or phone things in.
Raiding is fun. But it's only fun when 10 or 25 people are working together to give the group the greatest chance for success. Sometimes you can "carry" a few under-geared or under-experienced persons, but those people still have to show up with their best game, and be on the constant lookout for ways they can contribute more.
We use a loot council to distribute out loot. This is based on a mixture of attendance, performance, seniority, and for whom it is the biggest upgrade. Generally, new members can expect to raid 1 to 2 weeks before being considered for loot against our ranked raiders. In 25-mans, the drop is linked, and all interested parties will link their current gear - if you're interested in the item as an off spec, simply roll 1-1000. For 10-mans, our standard procedure is to roll 1-100 for main spec, 1-1000 for off spec, save for certain best in slot items.
Flasks, gems, and enchants are free for our members at or above the 'Raider' rank. New recruits will remain at their rank for a trial period of three weeks - they will still get loot, but will be more of a backup raider during this time and generally shall not get loot over regular raiders.
We do not condone or allow ninja looting, gold buying, or any sort of hacks or botting in our guild. If you are found to be using any illegal programs or to have ninja'd from a PuG, you will probably be removed immediately.
