“Friday Marines” Guild

as of 2019 the guild has ceased raiding due to roster issues and other factors related to in game issues, thanks to all that have played with us over the 5+ years the guild has existed, and good luck to all future endeavours.


WHO ARE WE:

We are Friday Marines, a cross guild raiding team clearing end game content while it is still relevant, at the same time not committing to a heavy raid schedule to do so,
the team was formed back in november 2012 from a core group of former hardcore raiders (most realm first level) who were unable to dedicate the time needed to the usual raiding schedule but were still looking to keep clearing end game bosses
and everything that comes along with it.

For the early life of the team it was purely a cross guild team with members from many guilds on the Doomhammer realm, and later recruits from Turalyon after the server merger occurred,
with the release of Legion the team was forced into making its own guild to still maintain many of the previous functions (namely master loot), most recently we have moved home to Silvermoon EU due to a lack of talent on our home realm of Doomhammer/Turalyon.


OUR AIM:

As mentioned above we are a team that aims to clear any and all end game content available at the current time while still maintaining a relaxed raiding schedule,
and to facilitate this we have a set of criteria that all raiders and trialists must adhere to in order to achieve this goal which is as follows:

1) Maintain an attendance level of 80% minimum over a 2 months rolling period, we raid 2 nights a week (Friday and Saturday 20:00-00:00 server time) and in order to keep progressing on this schedule we require you to be there for every raid.

2) We expect trialists and raiders to have a minimum weapon trait level of 75 for both main spec and primary off spec, alongside this there is also the expectation that you have full best in slot legendary items for each spec and are at least geared for the current content we are progressing on, while we are aware gear is merely a tool to achieve a goal, there is a baseline we need while still being able to progress the team,
the minimum artifact weapon trait level is reviewed on a patch by patch basis as and when blizzard adjusts how artifact power works and when new thresholds are added to the game with new content (legion exclusive to weapons will be amulet in BFA).

3) Being fully equipped with the best consumables for your class/spec and being able to maintain yourself, this includes but is not limited to food, enchants, augment runes (everyone should have the infinite version from rep or a decent supply from the AH) etc.

4) Having a minimum skill level for the content we are progressing, this means the ability to execute tactics properly and whenever necessary adjust those tactics on the fly to make progression smoother, if you have never set foot in a raid before and are looking to get started, this is not the group for you,
supplying multiple logs of past kills that show consistency over multiple kills will greatly help your application process, while at the same time showing you can compete with current members for a raid spot.

Every effort is taken to make sure our raids are always relaxed and a calm environment to play in, however on progression fights the old elite raider in all of us shows itself and we do take things seriously, so if you cannot take constructive criticism then this is not the team for you,
the majority of us are all mature players who have been around the block a few times and have seen most things at least once, we don't take kindly to those who look to start trouble as we view WoW as a great way to relax after having dealt with work commitments or family commitments,
and we will not tolerate people whose sole aim is to stir up drama either in raids or outside of raids in the wider community.


Outside of raid times we run several activities that all help us towards the main goals of the team with plenty of people around who enjoy M+, during the release of a new raid we also run a casual raid run on a wedneday evening where we clear non progress content for mains/alts (assuming geared enough),
with core raiders and socials.
