What you need to know about Voodoo before applying:

Voodoo is a hardcore raiding guild that strives to compete for PvE accomplishments with the goal of achieving a top 10 ranked in the world position. As such, you will find we have very strict recruitment procedures and expectations. This is quite simply not a guild for everyone, this is a guild meant for only the most dedicated and skilled players.

Your personal skill level and commitment will be closely observed during your application process. If you feel you may lack in either of these areas, please understand that there is a very real possibility of being removed from the guild. Approximately half of all guild initiates ultimately end up being rejected, please keep this in mind when applying and realize we do not give these warnings as just a form of cliché.

Our application process lasts around six weeks and involves a final group vote in which the applicant must receive a certain percentage of supporting votes to be promoted to a full member. Again, this process is not treated as just a formality as it is in many other guilds.

Our raiding hours are 7:00 PM to 12:00 midnight (EST/server time) Monday through Friday, and 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight on Saturday and Sunday. These are the raid hours that all members are expected to be able to meet; however, during progression pushes we will start as soon as we have a full raid and continue until we no longer do. We have gone as late as 5 AM and then started right back up at noon on a week day, these kind of hours are not required by any means but it could help your application tremendously if you are able to meet them.

Once content has been cleared our raiding schedule is usually condensed down to just one or two nights per week, but it is absolutely vital that all members be able to put in 40+ hours a week during times of progression. If you can make full attendance on farm content but can only show up for a portion of learning new content, this guild is not for you.

We use a DKP system with individual seasons for each raiding tier, with a small bonus incorporated for overall attendance from the previous season.

We also use a fair sitting policy that ensures everyone sits an equal amount of the time on farm content, expect to be asked to sit out about once every 6-8 weeks. No similar policy is used for progression content, we will fill the raid with whatever will increase our chances of killing things first.

Requirements and expectations of applicants:

Applicants should view 80% attendance as the absolute bare minimum for joining, if you are unable to commit to this amount of time then you should seek a guild more suited to your casual play style.

All applicants should be 18 years of age or older, or at least have the playtime freedom and maturity level to pretend to be.

A stable internet connection with reliable computer hardware is required.

You must be willing to use Ventrilo every night, having/using a microphone is optional but encouraged.

You must be willing to use any special mods or addons requested by the guild, without question.

You are expected to use an optimal keybinding and macro configuration. You cannot use your keyboard to turn your character or your mouse to click your abilities, period. If you do either of these please do not waste our time by applying because they are both easy to spot.

You must be a self-sufficient individual that is fully knowledgeable of your own class without the need of constant instructions or training from other members. You should know how to properly spec and gem your character to be in line with other top end raiders, as well as have a complete mastery over any spell rotations your class may use.

All members are expected to have an optimal enchant/gem/glyph setup and talent spec all tailored specifically towards raiding. You should not be using cheap enchants or gems on any gear that was obtained through raiding. You should also be using two professions that specifically benefit your class in a raiding environment. There are no gear level requirements for applying but you must at least maximize the potential of your current gear.

Members must be willing to bring and farm their own consumables, expect to spend up to 3,000 gold on consumables every time a new instance is released and up to 200 gold per night otherwise. In addition, you should carry at least five flasks on you at all times and shouldn't need to be told or reminded to do so. The guild bank is mainly used to support repair costs.

Wiping repeatedly on new encounters should be one of your most enjoyable experiences in the game. This includes "hard modes" and achievements.

You must be willing to rotate yourself in and out of instances as encounters demand, and understand that you are never entitled to a raid slot, even as a full member. We will do our best to ensure all members see their fair share of an instance but applicants especially must be willing to sit for a fight or an entire night.

While we encourage a fun and friendly atmosphere, you must be able to handle yourself professionally without abusing constant vulgar language or inappropriate behavior. Drama will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

To give you a further idea of the kind of applicant we look for:

You should be able to do Yogg-SAron without ever ever stepping into a cloud.

You should be able to do General without ever getting hit by shadow crash.

You should be able to do Hodir without ever being flash frozen.

You need to be the kind of player that can do all of these, and you need to be able to do them on your 1st or 2nd try. Players that can perform like this and players that cannot make up the main difference between good guilds and top guilds, we do not have time to let mediocre players learn fights for days straight when progressing through new content. Expect to be tested on encounters like these before receiving a trial invite.
